Agree on the safety part of it, that is why I have a Ruger, there is a physical block between the hammer and the firing pin, piece of steel that moves out of the way when you take it to full cock.... The time it takes to pull a auto out of the holster and pull the slide back to cock and load the chamber could be an eternity................... Of course the safest gun is an unloaded one which makes it useless for self defense................ But either way, you have to be aware of what you are doing- "unloaded" weapons have killed or hurt in the past............After dark and in a parking lot- want nothing left to chance

My son is still awaiting surgery. Has 8 fractures in his face bones. As the swelling goes down his pains increase. The hospital does the skull surgeries on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Hopefully this Thursday his surgery will be done. Please keep the prayers going. :thanks :god_bless_usa

You got it Gary. Keep your chin up, let the missus and the boy know that we're there for him (figuratively, if nothing else).

Thanks for all the prayers, they help. I trust in the Lord to watch over me. I spent the last two days in the Hospital. I'm Not out of the woods yet. The cardioligsts worked on one of the 3 restricted heart arteries for qutie awhile. All he was able to do with that one was get a small wire to run through it and he ran it back and forth, but wasn't able to get it open enough to do more. Blood flow did seem toincrease some.I'll be going back in 4 or 6 weeks so he can have another go at it. He attacked the next artery and was able to open it with angioplasty (balloon expansion) then he rand a rotor-rooter drill through it and then put a stent in it. Thus re-establishing full blood flow. The 3rd artery is still open and still has fairly OK flow but on the lower side. In time it might likely close off and if it does its a smaller vessle and likely will have little effect on me. The one that still needs to be worked on is another story. If the cardioligist fails to open it more and it cloggs off, he says, "I will feel a mild heart attack but I will survive it. Life is not going to change too much for me.I'll Keep enjoying my family, hobbies, and property. My biggest threat and enemy is stress - the reactions & chemicals it causes in the body. So my new way starting today is avoid all stress. If you aggravate or stress me I guess I will have to kick you and walk away. That should transfer my stress back to you. By-the-way I owe "one" person a kick,,,, so,,,, : BTW Its no one in this forum. :thanks Keep the prayers comming. :2thumbsup

take it easy... things have a way of working out...worrying and dwelling on things doesn't help...i know its a bunch of cliches...but that what they are there for...its the old "grant me the wisdom to know the difference" thing...

Have a kick for me too!
Understand about the stress. Just remember, don't sweat the small stuff, and in the over-all scheme of things, it's all small stuff.

OK, my friends I'm going to share this letter with you.
Dear Commander,
On May 17th I had completed 3 ½ hours of angioplasty and spent that night and morning in Harrison Hospital, East Bremerton. Only one of my 3 restricted arteries of 90% or better could be reopened. I have another angioplasty scheduled for next month. As you could imagine I was not in good spirits with that news.
My cardiologist had prescribed Plavix 75mg tab to be taken daily without fail. He said the stent he installed required and need it daily.
A copy of the Rx is attached. Ordered by my Cardiologist, Dr. _____________ of the ______ Cardiology Consultants, P.L.L.C.; and it is on an official Harrison Medical Center Rx Form #691.
On that afternoon of May 18th after being discharged from Harrison Medical center my wife and I went to the Pharmacy at Naval Hospital Bremerton to get the Rx filled. I got my ticket and waited patiently for my Rx to be filled. My doctor instructed me to avoid stress.
After time passed, I heard my name “yelled” across the waiting room twice. I went back up to the window. The lady said, “We are not filling this.” I asked, “Why?” She replied that, “A nurse can’t prescribe medication!!!”
Upset over this I went back out to our vehicle and spoke to my wife who is a RN. As we looked over the official Hospital Rx Form it surely has my Cardiologist’s name (Dr. _______) as being the ordering doctor. After his name is a backslash (/) and the nurse that took the order. With this information I went back inside your pharmacy and asked the lady that yelled my name to explain why they refused to fill this medication ordered by a medical doctor. Her reply in a raised voice was, “We are with paitents!” She wanted me to take another number and wait again.
At that point I decided and said, “ I want to talk to the Officer In Charge (OIC).” I was left standing there and about 2 minutes later a man in a tan uniform showed up. I explained to him that I needed this Rx for plavix as I was just discharged from Harrison Hospital cardic progressive ward and had a stent put in a heart artery. He made it clear that he did not care and said, “I’LL CALL SECURITY!!!!” I told him , “Go ahead.” I knew very well that as a medical patient the hospital has a Patient’s Bill Of Rights posted and I was entitled to a full explanation as to why I was being refused medication ordered by medical doctor.
His threat of “I’LL CALL SECURITY” ment nothing to me. I was a cardic paitent freshly discharged off a local cardic ward. What did he expected, security to come, slam me to the floor, handcuff me, and drag me to jail? Just to show he was a big and powerful Naval Officer capable of waving his hand and bring security forces down on a disabled military veteran with 24 years service because I wanted an answer.
A reasonable person (OIC) would have responded something like this, “Sir, may I see you prescription form and we will see what the problem is.” A caring and helpful individual would have at least made a call to the doctor and confirmed the RX.
I expect an apology from the Hospital and that Officer that was on duty and threatened me with “I’LL CALL SECURITY!

This stuff is over. After that crap my docter gave me some free Plavix that afternoon and a new RX. My wife will wait on my Rx at the pharmancy while I hand deliver my letter to the hospital Commander. Then the stuff belongs to him.

This is the worst month we have had in a good many years. It is a mess.
Son violently attacked and hospitalized. Wife had leg surgries & has pains. My heart angioplasty fixed one artery but not another. Need another angioplasty to be tried in a few weeks. Problem with a dear old friend. Yesterday lost my voice & developed a mild cough. A family friend died and I missed the merorial service cause I'm sick. My son's surgery is next week and if I'm still sick can't see him. So what other problems and stressers can happen in the remaining 8 days of May? ;D
Yes, its 0215Hrs and I'm not tired and can't sleep. :cry
