Just saw this photo and decided to share it. I was there. Now who can ID the base?
Would that be Norton AFB CA? It's kind of easy when photo is labled Norton AFB. The planes are also marked with 63 MAW. At McChord we were the 62 MAW so sister base.

...... But from the yellow AGE equipment, it is probably a bit ahead of the time the stupids in the AF thought that camo fatigues would hide GIs on concrete and asphalt ramps and dark OD equipment would survive an enemy strafing run.

You have to remember he started his AF career as an MA-1 WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEJim, Going into MA-1 Career field was one of the best things to ever happen in my career. I got a lot of training that turned into educational credits. While I was in MA-1 (1963-1970) I accumulated over 2,000 hours in a classroom. First was Tech School at Lowery AFB. Then 6 months, 4 hours a day at FTD for deeper training. Then I picked up another 5-600 hours in Factory School on Yellow Barrel, The tester we put over radome to test Radar/IR and most other system. I used that training, by Military credits, and a few other courses and got an associate degree with only 5 English/Social Studies classes. After I finished Flight Simulator training and 3 years as Instructor I added a second Associate Degree. So I and probably most other MA-1 Weeeeene's were glad to get the Label and we wear it well. Now what were we talking about? Lorin

That was to hide the AGE equipment parked on gray concrete so that enemy fighter pilots couldn't find them and strafe the equipment. Suppose that this paint scheme idiot had stock in a paint company some place? The VC infiltrators at Tan San Nhut never bothered the yellow equipment parked in the revetments.... They liked the open cockpits as a good repository for their grenades......
