Lorin, You are correct. Belinda's surgeon told her with her first knee replacement that she would feel better about the new knee in about 8 months and at the year mark would be thrilled with it and she is. We messed up and should have went back to him for the second knee replacement. But that is 2 hours away. She took a local surgeon and he messed it all up. So back to the Army Surgeon that did the first one. She did have one complcation. The bandage showed evidence of blood seepage. We went back Sunday and they pot on a negative dressing and put her leg in a brace. She might have stretched the stitches doing PT. The knee recovery is likely going to take her longer now that she isn't able to do PT until after Friday.

Yes that very well could be the reason they are here.

Mark that could be the mission, but the date of that article is 2015. Any flight testing now is probably out of Edwards. Initial pre production testing is over and was done out of Boeing Field. But once AF Pilots start flying it is Edwards test grounds.
www.bizjournals.com/wichita/news/2018/04/05/boeing-s-kc-46-tanker-marks-refueling-milestone.html
Latest testing was with other tankers, KC46, KC-10 and KC-135 all refueling a KC 46.

Maybe. Does anyone know if there is an Air Defense (1st Air Force) fighter detachment stationed at McChord? If there is, it seems strange that they would only have two-seaters there on alert, but with all the issues the USAF (and the rest of the military) has with readiness that may be all they have to put up there. It would help if we could see the tail codes of those F-16s. ED is Edwards AFB, and that would be a big clue.

Northrop built the YB-35 and later the YB-49 in the late 40's and were tested out of March AFB and flew over our house all the time while my father was stationed there. Jack Norton was convinced that his flying wing design was the best design for a long range heavy bomber. But it took the development of a more automatic flight control system to make the B-2 bomber a reliable aircraft. He was able to see a mock-up of it before he passed away.

Jack Norton was convinced that his flying wing design was the best design for a long range heavy bomber. But it took the development of a more automatic flight control system to make the B-2 bomber a reliable aircraft. He was able to see a mock-up of it before he passed away.
Shortly before his death in 1981, he was given clearance to see designs and hold a scale model of the Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit which shared many of the design features of his YB-35 and YB-49 designs.[8]: the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber has the same wingspan as Jack Northrop's jet-powered flying wing, the YB-49.[9] Northrop reportedly wrote on a sheet of paper "Now I know why God has kept me alive for 25 years". In the Wing Will Fly documentary, B-2 project designer John Cashen says: "As he held this model in his shaking hands, it was as if you could see his entire history with the flying wing passing through his mind." Jack Northrop died 10 months later, on February 18, 1981

www.thelivingmoon.com/45jack_files/03files/Davis_Monthan_Air_Base_Air_Force_Boneyard.htmlSome nice shots of AF Boneyard. When you see B-52 section where they are chopped up, those were destroyed as part of Start Treaty with USSR. Even though they are scrap, Treaty requires they stay as they are so when Russia Open Skies flights go over they can still count the airframes. Sounds dumb, but that was how treaty was written. Similar thing with INF treaty for Ground launched cruise missiles. We took engines, guidance, warheads, etc off. But the airframes were kept in storage chopped into parts. We used all the parts taken from GLCM to use on Advanced Cruise Missiles. Lorin

Well first off, nice picture. Second it looks like two lightning strikes behind, or off of it. The flaps are also in landing/TO position.

I'll go along with this and add looks like a 3rd strike behind a piece of equipment... looking again, looks more like an AP standing there. While I was at Griffiss, on base strikes were not a rarity......
