A message from Bobski
All F106 Troops, Pat Perry made a good suggestion to send out the list of all the people who have already signed up for the reunion and the tours. It is current as of 2/16/2015, 5:30 PM EST. See the attached signed up file. If you find any errors, or have questions email reply or phone Ken or Bobski). Also forward and bug your buddies to sign up!!! Most important is that we need your headcounts if you plan to attend any of the tours by March 1. You can pay later. Remember the tours are a great way to visit with friends, new and old; bring back memories, time fillers.... etc... Natalia, the tour guide is outstanding! I have also attached the Itinerary Flyer with the reunion details for signups... Bobski & Ken

Here is the response from Ken Hackman upon receiving the clock picture that Jim, the Old Sarge, sent him. Jim wanted to thank Ken for sending a hi-res image to use for the same type award to be used for the 2015 F-106 Reunion.
Ken Hackman wrote: Jim,
Fantastic! Wow! I was completely blown away by the beautiful gift I received in the mail. You did a great job and I am so appreciative of your generosity. The photo looks great with the clock and the inscriptions on the back I shall cherish. I am glad that I was able to help out with your project.
I would have called you but I didn't have your number. If I can help out in the future, let me know. I'm sure I have more F-106 photos. The ADC F-106s used to deploy to Korea for six month TDYs. I went over there to photograph them and then flew with the returning contingent flying from Korea to Guam enroute back to the U.S. Long ride in a F-106!!
Thanks again,
Ken Can you get back with Ken and see what he has for the Korea deployed Sixes? I bet he has some great shots that would be great on the Korea section of the website.

My Email To Ken: Ken, you have made quite an impression on the guys here on the forum.... The Irish Web Master has asked a question that I thought I would copy out of the forum and fwd to you.... BTW, I framed a copy of the Interceptors at the Academy and sent it Ralph Robledo who has restored/preserved one of each of the a/c you photographed. These are located at Castle (AFB) Air Museum at Merced. If you are ever in the neighborhood, I am sure that you would be a very welcome visitor... If you should happen to be in Colorado Springs anytime between 7 Oct and the 11th, I am sure that the 2015 F-106 ALL TROOPS REUNION would steal a red carpet from somewhere to roll out to welcome you......... Thanks again, Jim Gier aka The OLD Sarge

From Bobski on Mar 2, 2015 to all F-106 Troops email distribution list. bobski9933@aol.com (I copy these here on the Forum in case some potential attendees may not be on Bobski's email distribution yet - Pat P.)
All F106 Troops Here is the updated attendance list for March 1st, 2015. There are only 17 seats left on the evening tour. We have reserved 3 busses for Garden of the Gods, the AF Academy and Peterson AFB/WW II museum. One bus for the other venues. Now that we have reserved 150 spots for the 3 venues we need to encourage people to at least register and help us get them filled! Start reminding your buddies to get onboard and start registering and signing up! Don't forget to call or signup online if you plan on staying at the Elegante! Ken Wigton and Bob Kwiecinski Co-Chairs

On Mar 14, 2015 Ken Wigton wrote to Bobski: I Just thought you might want to send an update/reminder to the folks on the email list.
We now have passed the 100 mark for attendees. I have added a few that emailed though they have not paid for their registration yet. Please get that in the mail guys and gals along with your selections. The evening tour only has 14 seats left available. I also had an inquiry about what we do with the registration money. It pays for the patches, stamps and envelopes plus ink and paper for the snail mail. I have put an $1800 deposit on the tour busses. It will cover your name tags and the tickets that we have to get printed for all the venues. If we have any money left over we donate it to an AF museum and a different one each year. We keep a small amount for mailings for our next reunion. Bobski and I go to the area and do all the planning and find a few local contacts to help us. We spend our own money on that as this reunion is not for profit, just something that the entire committee loves to do.
This year Dave Stiteler is our other "local" member and he does all the snail mailings and has input on the major decisions. Junior Mastro and Lowell Bell are our local contacts in Colorado Springs. There are many others that get involved and we will be thanking them at the reunion. Jim Gier has made the beautiful clocks that we will raffle off. He does this at all the AF reunions and we are eternally grateful for his great work and generosity.
Lastly, I'd like to once again urge you folks to get registered ASAP. That part is just $15 for you veterans and $10 for your guest(s). Anyone is welcome and in fact I have a daughter, son in law and 2 grandkids coming for a few events. I need all your info to get numbers for the meals and bus tours. We will also soon be asking you to make your meal choice for the farewell banquet. It will be beef, chicken or fish. Thanks everyone and we'll see you in October. Please get your names and choices to me soon.
Thank you all, Ken Wigton

REUNION COIN IS IN PRODUCTIONView AttachmentView AttachmentHere is the coin Pat P, Dick Stultz and I have been working on. This is a sample of the final design and the production run has commenced.
I have them listed on my F-106 Delta Dart eStore (www.f-106deltadart.com/estore) BUT they ARE NOT yet for sale! They are listed in the store at $0.00, with a Stock Level of '0' so they cannot be ordered even if you tried, and as you will see I have clearly marked the fact they are not yet available. We just want to get the word out and show everyone what it looks like. Who knows, it might be just the thing that tips the scales for someone 'thinking' of coming but not yet committed?
Anyway, this is the coin, so you can use these images as you wish to market it.

Here's the latest from Bobski on the F-106 Reunion - Pat P.
Hello All F106 Troops, Here we are into April already so I thought it was a good time to do an update for the troops. Guys and gals, we need your information for the counts for our meals and the busses. Hard to believe but we are only 6 months out from the reunion. The headcount is very important as we do all our planning around them. You are not required to do any of the tours but you can do them all if you care to. Many folks are. Even if you just want to attend the meals and go off on your own that is fine but we are encouraging folks to ride the busses as it has worked very well in the past. I have numerous folks sending me money each month for an individual tour and they will be paid up by late summer. I am fine with that, pay as you go! We have about 125 signed up right now and have no limit so please at least register and let me know which events you will attend. Don't "miss the boat", this will be a good one! We have lined up a few guest speakers and will have some nice surprises for you all. We will also have some stunning gifts up for raffle (Jim Gier has donated 13 hand made F106 wooden clicks). Bill Chesnut is making a stunning DVD to show and we will have someone selling AF memorabilia and an author signing his book(s). You can also keep up with the reunion at: www.f-106deltadart.com/photo_gallery/index.php/REUNIONS/All-F-106-2015-Colorado-Springs So once again troops, if you're coming please let me know soon. The clock is ticking! Check out the list below of attendees signed up so far. Regards, Ken Wigton kwigton@comcast.net Co-Chair Bobski bobski9933@aol.com Co-chair

From Bobski & Ken Wigton April 20th
F106 Troops - IMPORTANT NEWS.......
1. The AFA has a Home football game on October 10th (Wyoming, time TBD) and that Colorado College has their reunion the same day. Hotel space could be scarce so it would be good to make your hotel reservation now. We have plenty of rooms in reserve for our reunion! You can call the Elegante Hotel (719-576-5900 x 1777) to reserve your room (reference F106 All Troops 2015 Reunion); or use the special website for our reunion: www.reseze.net/cassets/mkt/mcmelegante/landing_pages/MCM_Colorado_F106_All_Troops_Reunion_Group.html We have negotiated a price of $79 per night including breakfast. They are offering this rate for 3 days prior to and 3 days after the reunion. You can view the Hotel website at www.hotelelegante.com You will always have the option to cancel if you can't make it. You may also buy tickets to the football game should you choose that over our tour to Peterson AFB museum with lunch and the WW II museum.
2. Anyone that's on the fence may want to go ahead and make your reunion reservation and sign up with Ken Wigton. If you have to cancel you can get your spouses $10 back and either the reunion patch or your money ($15) back for your reservation. 3. if you're not on a tour on a particular day, the hotel has a free shuttle to go anywhere within a 3 mile radius of the hotel which includes old Colorado City.
4. We're just over 5 months away and are encouraging all you folks that have said you're coming to send in your registration and lock in a place at the reunion. 5. There are still 10 seats available on the evening tour that includes the completely re-done Seven Falls after dark. My understanding is that it is a magnificent sight with colored lighting on the falls. The ticket prices have not been released yet and will be on your own but the tour guide says it was very reasonable in the past. The whole venue was completely re-done this year.
So once again guys and gals, it's time to start planning and to register. Thanks, Ken Wigton

From Bobski - Pat P.
5 months to go!
Dear F106 Troops, For those of you not registered with us yet for the 2015 reunion. From this date forward if you have NOT signed up yet please fill out the attached registration form with your check and mail to Ken Wigton. Also attached is the itinerary for your reference. In other news we seem to be in a registration lull. We have 103 signed up for the reunion. We know it's still 5 months to go, but it gets scary for Ken and I, as we are committed by contract with the Elegante Hotel for a minimum number of attendees. So if you are procrastinating and are at least planning to attend to let us know! Pass the word on to your buddies! We know a good percentage will wait until the last 30 days to sign up. Don't forget your money is refundable until October 1. Aim High! Bobski

A message fro Bobski - Pat P.
All F106 Troops, Ross Shulmister has informed us that there is an AFA vs. Wyoming football game on the Saturday (Oct. 10) of our reunion. Time is TBD. This is also the same day we have our Peterson Field and WWII Museum Tours. Also our farewell banquet is that evening. Ross has asked us to take a canvass to see if many are interested in attending the game as a group. See his note below. Email reply to Ross at: mross849@hotmail.com and CC me at bobski9933@aol.com if you are interested in attending the game. This is also another incentive to get your hotel reservations in to the Elegante very soon as the hotels in the CS are will be filling up for the game. We have reserved plenty of rooms for our reunion. Bobski
From Ross: Bobski,
My favorite daughter and I plan to opt for the USAFA vs. Wyoming game on Saturday, Oct. 10th.
Please canvass the multitude to see if there are any other fans, so we can get a bloc of tickets, possibly at a discount. Groups are parties of 20 or more, but as a group we may be seated in the same section but not all together.
Game time will not be fixed until probably June, and is based on TV coverage. Afternoon is a good bet, but games have been known to be scheduled mornings and evenings (unlikely but possible).
Tickets should be in the range of $27-30. Parking is $10 (maybe that will encourage carpooling). If we can get commitments before the end of May, we can get good seats down low, and hopefully mid-field. Payments for the tickets are "up-front" and not refundable (unless we can sell them to someone else). Parking is paid at entry.
Thanks.
M. Ross Shulmister

Hello again Troops, Attached you will find the latest Attendees list. A "1" in the box means that person is attending that event or tour; "0" means no. Highlighted yellow means they are not attending. Please look at the list and use it to remind your buddies to consider attending. Also check it for your information accuracy. If you haven't paid yet, you may do so at anytime before Oct 1. Installment payments are ok with Ken. We are asking for a few volunteers who are attending to take digital photos and to make them available to us. Aim High! Bobski

We are also not able to attend a 13th FIS Reunion the same week in Dallas.
Other priorities take precedence.

An update from the Reunion Committee:
I have been speaking with our tour guide and have some solid information to pass on to you all.
She needs to have anyone attending any of the tours signed up by August 7th and I need to pay a 50% deposit at that time. It is extremely important for me to get your info ASAP.
She needs to schedule not only the busses but the right size busses depending on the headcount. I have already sent her $1800 to lock in the dates and times but now it's you folks that need to let me know if you're coming and which tours (if any) that you are taking. I have had numerous folks give me verbal positive responses but now you need to send me a registration form and a check. Your committee has worked hard to make this a memorable event and now it's in your laps! Please respond in kind. Thanks,
Ken Wigton and Bob Kwiecinski and all your committee members

See important note about the Evening Tour at Seven Falls from Ken. Bobski
From: kwigton@comcast.net Subj: Evening tour I have been in discussion with Natalia, our tour guide. The Broadmoor Hotel has bought 7 falls and has spent millions improving it. They also have decided to close at 7PM in October making the evening tour an afternoon tour. This should be good news for the 48th folks as they can do the tour and probably still make their Friday night dinner.
Natalia is in negotiation with the Broadmoor regarding transportation and cost to get into the Falls and the time we would do the tour. The cost is posted on their website as $14 PP. We have 53 seats on the bus and 44 are filled and I had a call that someone was sending a check for 2 more seats leaving 7 left. I won't know all the details until Natalia finishes her talks with the Broadmoor but she is hoping to secure more spots should we exceed the 53. Please pass this on to the troops and remind them that I have to give Natalia the tour totals by this Friday, August 7th. This is to finalize the busses needed. Please contact me if you're going on any of the tours so I can get a good headcount. I am going to try and get about 10% more space for late comers but cannot guarantee that so please call me (248-887-6834) or email me at kwigton@comcast.net if you are at least 50-50 about a decision. You can reserve a spot and if you decide to cancel by the end of September that's no problem. Should you want just a patch, register by sending me $15 and I will mail it to you. We're only about 2 months out so this is a late shout out for those that have not yet responded and also an email to pass on to other F-106 people or interested friends. Thanks guys and gals. See you in October.
Ken
