Hi Gene, Great pictures! I noticed that you use mediafire.com to embed pictures in the forum with the "Insert Image" command. Question: Does Mediafire allow you to embed a URL in the "Insert Hyperlink" command on this forum in order to allow us to click on the picture and go to that particular album and view all the pictures? Just curious, Thanks, Pat P. 456th FIS

I believe I have a McChord AFB Assignment Booklet from 1973/74 and will post some of the pages as soon as I get the printer/copier/scanner fixed. Its a month old and this is the second time I've need technical help. Spent 4 hours on the phone yesterday with romote assistance and still no go. It's a HP C6280,,,,so do not by one. ;D I'm expecting a phone call shortly from HP. If that does not fix it then its back to the store to get something else.

Pat, I believe that mediafire does that, yes.
I know that they provide a link to the picture (you should be able to see it when you're logged onto their website), and you should be able to make it into a hyperlink on the board. I haven't tried it that way myself, and not on this forum, but I don't see any reason why it won't work that way.

hey, i was just cruisen around the website and came across the fact your were with the 36th tas... funny as it may seem, i used to get around with the 130 crowd quite a bit... in the '70's it was photography and in the 80's it was loading them... its got to be a small world. p.s. looks like your scanners up..

Yep, got it all working. Got it fixed last night. HP techline,,,,,,2 hours with a techncian in portland Or.. Three nights ago 4 1/2 hours with a guy in Montreal, Canada and he did not get it fixed. What was discovered was that it seems when I updated my online game with 2 patches the computer asked me if I wanted to reconfigure my system to run at optimal performance after the game patches. I selected yes when I should have selected cancel. The computer reverted back to my old printed HP 940 which was connected with parallel port. The new printer HP C6280 is connected USB. The computer kept trying to find the printer in the parallel port. He did lots of work to redo it. It all seems to be working great now and the new driver version I like lots better. Though you might like to know this. Just incase anyone ever has this problem. Yep, I was with the 36TAS and worked the Turbo Prop Engine Shop. You likely took this photo for the base news paper. Early 1980's. I'm the tallest guys front middle. We had all our extra turboprop engines completely repaired, and reconditioned, and checked on our testcell. We were basicly out of work after working our butts off to accomplish this. A few days after the news paper came out a C-130 landed and dropped of 4 junk engines. Two from Dyess and two from Little Rock and took 4 of our newly overhauld engines. Needless to say we were pissed off!

Gene's request,,,, My reply,,, :teacher This photo is very poor so I have never shared it before. I think it was the last pic on a roll of 110 film. Taken circa: 1979 @ Sembach Air Base, West Germany. We are doing a pre engine run-up check walk around.

Another of putting fuel in the wing. This is the tarmac at Zaragoza Air Base, Spain Aircraft fueling. Zaragoza again. This young troop is shoot a moon or is indicating to his co-worker standing to the right that he has a pimple that needs popping. If my memory recalls it all correctly I was the flightline supervisor that afternoon. As he shot the moon I whipped out my camera and took his photo as they were laughing. I yelled back that the camera got them on film and it would come in handy at their court-martials. One yelled back something like, "Ya right." I replied with, You've heard of Conduct-unbecoming. I then walked on. Later they came up and asked if they were really going to be court-Marshalled. I should have had some fun with them, but I let them off the hook.

Some jet engine work here. Part of My crew. Engine test box ready. Oh crap, I guess they screwed that repair up. Just joking. That engine fire was do to an engine oil system metal chip light warning. As soon as the chip light came on the engine failed and the turbine went up through the fuel cell. Nothing maintenance did wrong. Internal failure.

wow!! a joystick... i remember all the "bigger" jets had the old steering wheel... i have to go into the c 17 cockpit to set the brakes when i have to use the cargo floor stabiliztion struts...i know it has a joy stick...and the way they fly....its almost like a fighter...they turn and dive and really twist that 375,000 lbs all over the sky...
