I received two long updates on Steve from his bride, Marsha.
There are lots of issues involved, and he will be in hospital for several weeks, undergoing chemo and a bone marrow transplant.
He is in good spirits, but exhausted, as is Marsha.
If you are interested in the updates, PM me with your home e-dress, and I will forward them to you.
Those of you who live in the Seattle area, and would like to visit Steve, may be able to do so, but will have to coordinate a visit with Marsha and not be sick.
If you would like to visit, let me know, and I will give you her e-mail address.
You can continue sending e-mails to Steve: steve.stephens1@frontier.com
He will read them as he is able, but may not reply.
If you would like to be tested to see if you might be able to be a bone marrow donor, Marsha can give you the details.
That's it for this morning.
Keep praying for Steve and Marsha.

Hi everyone.. sorry I hadn't been on the site in awhile..it's been a rough time....ended up in ER 3 times....now in Virginia mason ..had 3 xrays.....2 ct scans....found out that I have leukemia aml....let me back up some ...about 13 yrs ago I contracted Scleroderma and was only given 6mos......mainly a walking dead...the treatment for it was cytoxan which arrested the disease but due to the lack of imperical data at the time...they didn't know it caused leukemia 10 yrs down the road...so..they gave me 13 yrs more life than I would have.... so..on top of that ...my gut came down with a massive gut bug that made me extremely ill.....couldn't poop....couldn't fart....couldn't eat until it all came to a head causing massive violent vomiting.... since I've been admitted to VM...they have had a great team taking care of me and my needs....I'm on chemo drugs and a host of other stuff to help kill off my stem cells...get the white cells back in line and then hopefully I can find a donor for me for some stem cells to save my life....on a side note..you wouldn't believe how good it felt to finally have a normal bm.. especially after several days of nothing but pain..... .I've got things working and I thank god for every second and all the friends that have stood by my side....marsha and I are greatful for all the caring comments from everyone.... spoke with the doc's either yesterday or today..there is absolutely no chance the schleroderma is in the mix...they are positive of that....so..we were both giddy as hell .....but the rest is an up hill battle and I will be here in this room for the next 3-4 weeks...then it will be search for the stem cell match....at first I had a 50/5o chance....now I'm up to 60/40...so....things are slowly but surely looking up.... thanks again for all the comments.........caring...and prayers.......god bless you all...this is a wonderful Airforce family and I want to thank each of you for all of your support and comments......it's been tough trying to answer anyone on a stoopid smart phone when your pumped up with the good legal drugs ..... Steve/marsha

Here is the update I got from Marsha this evening. -------------------------
"He was doing really well this morning and looking good and they removed the tube from his stomach but we think it’s because he started drinking and eating ice the stomach pain came back and he got sick. They gave him stomach meds and the pain killer and once that kicked in he started feeling better again. The cancer Dr. came by while I was out and said his #’s are looking good and he is handling the chemo well, Steve said the Dr. was very encouraged by this. The “Team” came by while I was there and they said all his other #’s were pretty good but his glucose is getting higher so they may have to increase his insulin. The chemo is a continuous liquid chemo for 7 days and so far (1-1/2 days) it’s going well. They have to get approval for the insurance before they will test his sister and that could take up to 2 weeks. I just checked on him and they said it was a short lived set back and he is doing much better again so I will be going over now to visit with him again. If there is more to tell later tonight I’ll send another update otherwise tomorrow evening again.
If you’d like to send cards please send them to:
Virginia Mason Hospital Seattle
925 Seneca Street
Seattle, WA 98101
Attn: Harry (Steve) Stephens, Room 1559
Yes feel free to post the address, it would cheer him up to get cards but no flowers/plants/food etc." (Jim highlight)
Steve is reading his e-mail, and looking at the Six Forum, but may not post anything for a while.

May God bless and be with Steve and Marsha. Prayers for his quick recovery and prayers for strength for Marsha.
Bullhunter, I don't know if Steve is a member of AFTWS or not, but would it be okay to post on AFTWS for Steve to be added to Casey's prayer list and his address to send cards?
