Thought I'd add a recent photo. This is another picture of me next to a Six of course! I can finally check seeing this one off the list! We flew into McChord yesterday (Tuesday) and I was able to get this photo of me taken my my aircraft commander. We flew back today so I'm sorry I didn't have time to see or call anyone up there. Maybe next trip. Mark

Mark, Two C-130's flew over my house Tuesday. I live near Port Ludlow & Port Townsend. Most of the aircraft from Alaska fly down the Vancouver Island. These two C-130's were maybe 3 to 4 minutes apart. If you few into McChord from Alaska you passed over my house. I'm 75 miles from McChord.

Sunday I took my Son, Daughter, & Son-in-law on a fishing trip to Cressent Lake. Its west of Port Angeles between the Strait Of Jaun Defuca and the Olympacia mountians. A day on the water with great secenry you just can't hardly beat. We watched an eagle swoop down and pick a trout up out of the lake. (almost as exciting as watching a six take-oof,

Mark, Thanks for the picture from McChord. Those guys have done an excellent job making that Six look good. And how about that concrete pad - very nice! Pat P.

No, we came in solo from the south and the farthest north we got was on Wednesday, just north of I-90 floating bridge on Lake Washington as we made a VFR trip around Seattle after we dropped some bubbas from the 1st Special Forces Group out of Ft. Lewis. After our tour of Seattle we went back to McChord, gassed up and flew back to Dyess. It was a long day! Anyone recognize this place? Especially that ramp on the left? Mark

You bet, that is the old 318th FIS ramp. That is also a great photo of McChord AFB. Looks like a C-17 doing a Tough & Go. I'll be there tomarrow as my daughter and her family are catching a space-a hop on a C-17 back to Dover AFB. Thanks for sharing that pic of McChord.

You have a sharp eye Bull!! We were following that C-17 around and were on our base leg when the nav took that shot. I talked to one of the trans bus drivers and asked him what they use the Echo ramp for these days and he said it's just an overflow ramp. To me the place is just begging for another fighter squadron but who knows what the AF will do. Maybe UAVs as that is the way we are going. Mark P.S. Here's a close up of me next to the display bird at McChord...

it really doesn't.... all the ramps are lettered...my building is on the north end and the parking spots are bravo 1 thru 9, the main apron is juliet ramp w/ 1 - 15, charlie ramp "had" the 130's and the delta ramp is in front of the main hangars.... back in the '70's when i said i was going down to the 318th, i just said: i'm going over to the 318th.. now its: "hey" drive that load down to echo ramp...
