Well let me explain! If you ALL go back to your basic SAFETY operatin principles, you might remember that the liquid libations are best left for the finished product! Thats where they were consumed - AFTER the job was finished. You bet that there were a couple of them Green bottles left empty after such a job. Me and sheet metal don't seem to get along-always! I'm glad I had and expert along! MArv

im going to fill out an af form 1000 on that maybe i can make a few bucks off a good idea like that. speaking of which does anybody in the 318th remember the guy that submitted the suggestion about the redundant pump and got $10,000. i remember shooting that for the airlifter back in the dark ages.

You never heard of chocking seriously? Ya know those yellow blocks of wood place in front and back of tires on vehicles to keep em from rolling... Well - Chocks.

Patrick I have never heard of the chocking the aircraft, you said it was SOP, why was that? We always put wheel chocks under the wheels in front and behind the wheel anytime the jet is parked. You see when a crew chief who marshals in a jet to a parking spot points his thumbs inward and potions them inward together? That tells his assistant to insert the wheel chocks. Standard Operating Procedure SOP.

salami, salmai, and thats no baloney oh great master of the web, im a c17 apex these days. and we always show up about the time the engines shut down and the wheels are chocked. we even chock the vehicles behind the a/c... its got to be a hold over from the old days, because, the 60k "tunner" wouldn't even feel running over the chock, much less stop it from impacting the jet. p.s. lets see some more pics of the participants... p.p.s. theres got to be a good story behind the other a-10 photo.

OK you got me on that one, I knew I shouldn't have been in a rush. what I meant to say was I never heard of chocking the aircraft when the wheels were up I.E. belly landing, man when I went back to the forum and saw what I had written, next time noooooooo rushing!!! well guys, im getting there. feb 09 will be 35 years(all fed civil service). got all my debts squared away...looking around to do something after i pull the plug...thought about volunteering at the mcchord museum and doing a little photography :yellowbeer: :yellowbeer: :yellowbeer:
