I need Infos / references about the stencils, markings & all the maintenance texts on the F-106. I have searched the internet, but found not all the things needet.
Thanks in advance,

All right Mark,48MMS and the rest of you guys, steer this guy to the threads right here that should help him............ The Old Sarge I'm curious as to the size of the artwork, as well as the detail level you seek. Even the most highly detailed "simviation" paints won't show every maintenance stencil down to the last letter, but I appreciate your effort! First step is to find T.O. 1-1-4 which has the official markings. Here is the 1998 version. (The F-106 info is on pages B-22,23. There is plenty of other great info in this T.O. as well.) www.oldwings.nl/content/o0/USAF_TechOrder_TO_1-1-4.pdfNext, I would recommend finding a set of old Superscale F-106 decals in 1/48 scale. In my experience they are the most detailed, and accurate although often blurry from years of production. The instructions would be perfect as they are generally clearer to read than the decals themselves. The thing to keep in mind is several of these decal sheets only show one side (usually the port) of the aircraft, and all stencils do not mirror each other. If you can tell me what specific squadron(s) you are interested in painting I may have the decal sets you need, and will be happy to scan them in high resolution for reference. Again, please let me know your needs, and keep us posted on your progress. Mark Edit: Oh yea, don't forget to look at the HUNDREDS of photos on this web site, as well as the ones on this site... www.convairf-106deltadart.com/Go to the "F-106 Tail Number Sequence" section, start at the 1956 tail numbers, and go from there! You might find just the photos you need if you are missing one of the pieces of your puzzle!

Carlo, I don't know where you live but if you live near a museum that has a F-106 on display, that may be the best place to shoot pictures of the small markings. The list of locations is here. convairf106deltadart.homestead.com/displayspage.htmlNot all museum displays are highly detailed to show all original markings. The most accurate one is probably going to be at the Museum of the USAF at Dayton, OH. They have access to all the TOs that show placement and wording of even the smallest stencils. Pat P.

Soulfreak, what do you specifically need. If you list what you need, I can take some pics of my bird and post them. You might also check for a publication called "F-106 in Detail & Scale", it may have pics of what you are looking for.

Thank you Gentlemen! Shadowgunner, i specialli need to know what is written in all those small maintenance texts, warning & danger signs etc. For the bit bigger ones i have the infos, but not for the smaller ones and for the red/white danger / warning signs. The "F-106 in Detail & Scale" i own, but not as helpful as i hoped....

Hopefully, you can zoom in on the pics I took to get the info. Resolution is there, focus might be an issue. Light is low at the museum and I tried to keep the flash to a minimum.
If there's anything else I can do, let me know.

Soulfreak: hope this helps a bit. They are scans of a Microscale decal set and one from the Monogram 1/48 kit. Typically the labeling on the armament bay doors will read as follows: (2 lines) DANGER with "fast acting doors" below it,all inside a red slashed box either on fuselage above bay door hinges (both sides) or on the outer door surfaces (both sides-fwd & aft). On the inner doors (also fwd & aft) will be a slashed red box with this inside (3 lines): "before entering bay remove power install door locks " This is the labeling you will see on the decal sets' multiple red slashed boxes. Couldn't take any pics of my bird today; it was pouring rain. Hope this will suffice.

I have most of the decals made for the F-106 in 1/48 and 1/72 scale. Are you looking for any particular squadron? Please let me know, and I can scan the ones you need. :teacher
