On Dec 30 2008 I visited Camp Blanding Museum and Memorial Park located near Starke, Florida which is about 35-40 miles southwest of Jacksonville. This is the Camp Blanding URL: www.campblanding-museum.org/Camp Blanding has F-106A 59-105 on static display. Here are a few of the pictures of 59-105. I don't believe that 59-105 was ever a part of the Florida Air National Guard which is why the tail number is not displayed on the aircraft. This one is of the Museum building which contains a lot of historical displays from WWI and WWII. Bill Hamilton :fire_missle_ani

That is pretty neet how the put it on a stick. Wonder why no drop tanks? I talked briefly with the old veteran in the WW2 museum and he did not know a lot about the aircraft on display. He did say that the F-106 had been gutted to a bare airframe as part of the preparation for mounting on the stick. Even the landing gear were removed before the gear doors were closed. I presume you have looked at the photos at: www.f-106deltadart.com/displays/camp_blanding.htm that show 59-105 arriving at Blanding and being prepared. These show a cradle in the background that probably held 59-105 before it was hoisted.
