You are right Gene. Seeing public pictures on TV is one thing. private and personal WWII pic's is something else. I've put these on a slideshow for him and on my 46" HD LCP 1080 unit the detail is awesome. I can also freeze a photo and study it. As we get deeper into his album some of the photo's are not for young kids to see. Understand? Dead troops! Advancing through St. Lo toward Palis. What a mess. This city looks pretty together.

Not there yet. Never know when it could happen. This poor German soldier never made it to inpatient care anywhere. Guess he died on the litter and they just left him there. By his looks he had been there awhile. The awfulness of war.

very true.... wars have been going on since there were enough people to have one, and ever since cameras were invented, someone started documenting the war.... i remember the instructor in the docoumentary dept. at vandenberg afb telling us that...not in so many words... but you get my drift.

Gene, even before cameras there were people documenting battles. I have found it interesting to go through museums and castles in England and look at the pictures of battles that were fought way back when. The artist, in many cases, was commissioned by the guy who is the center of attention in the battle, the winner, and is somewhat glorified. I wonder what the paintings of the losers looked like when they had them done. The camera seems to do a better job. Looking at photographs from the War of Northern Aggression/Civil War, you see war in all of it's horror from both sides. Too bad it isn't the politicians, kings and emperors out there taking enemy fire. Maybe then they wouldn't be so quick to send their young men in to battle. :cry

This might be a ME-262 also. Can't tell. [/quote] Doubt that it is a 262, the wing is attached to the fuselage and no engine nacelle in the picture...............The Old Sarge
