He will be in a rehab center for a few weeks. I got his photo album from his wife and I'm almost finished with putting together a DVD slideshow for him as a birthday gift when he comes home. Complete with music. It has about 200 photo's in it. I'll get around to sharing a few after he gets home and he sees his surprise. I need his OK to share his pictures. I'll likely make a few copies for his kids. He has two Silver Stars and an Army Commendation Medel. WWII & Korea. Went from private to captian.

Rehab can be a pain, but he can have some fun with it too. If it's like the rehab I had to go thru, there'll be some classes involved where they tell you what and how much you should eat, etc. For example, they (the nurses giving the class) suggested that a good sized serving of meat would be about the size of a deck of cards, I asked if they were talking about the decks that magicians use on stage...

This is a photo of my old friend about 1940 while in training prior to WWII. He is on the right with a bar (Browing Automatic Rifle). They look fairly heavey and have one hell of a barrow opening. He is currently back home and resting. :us_flag

Here we have him at a .50 cal. anti aircraft weapon. water cooled. BTW, Combat was my favorite show when I was a kid. Vic Marrow (Sgt Saunders) packed a thompson sub-machine gun and one of the squad members had a BAR.

Well $hit! Monday morning it's my turn for a cardio check-up. I'm having a Nuke Cardio Treadmill Stress Test. If I'm off for awhile you will know I did not pass it. That's life. He sits at another anti-aircraft gun.

My last cardio exam was in 2003. I need one every 5 years or less. I'm past due. No chest pains or anything like that. I do sweat heavy when doing stuff and often get tired and take a nap. That could be from medications or just conditioning. I have full medical coverage so I'm going to use it. Error on side of caution. Amen. Photo of a NATO Troop Convoy across the Alantic.

:thumbsup Well, Bull and Jim, testing time is the second most scary time when it comes to finding out what may be wrong with your ticker. The scariest time is after the tests and you wait talk to the doctor. The anticipation can drive you up the wall. Cheery thought, what? I have had several of the tests you two are going to have and, no, I didn't pass with flying colours. In fact the one about 3 years ago was done in the hospital after De took me there with chest pains and major sweating. The cardio doc did an echo cardiogram. He wasn't happy with it. So he did an echo down my throat to look at my heart from inside my body. Then he did an angiogram. The next day I was sent home and told to see my regular cardio doc in a couple weeks. Did some major thinking and praying until I saw him. Then got the "good" news. I have, get this one guys, Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy with Mitral Regurgitation. Boy, isn't that a mouth full? What that means is there is a genetic obstruction between my mitral valve and the aortic valve. It is the thing that causes young athletes to collapse and die for no apparent reason. It is, when known about, treatable and you just have to take care. I can't, for instance, run marathons or climb Mt. Everest. One side effect can be, and it was with me, is an irregular heart beat. That, too, can be teated with meds. Because it is genetic, my kids and grand-kids, when old enough, will have to be tested to see if they have the problem. So far none of my kids and older grand-kids are O.K. By the way. I didn't have a heart attack and my arteries were clear. That was the good news. The BAD news: I have to drink only De-Caf coffee. Bummer! But I manage. All that to let you both know that whatever you may have, and I will pray there is nothing wrong, can be treated. Thanks for letting me, and the other Patriots, know what to pray for, for both of you.

Thanks for sharing that, and thanks for your prayers. I had a single bypass in 1990 at age 36. Obstruction was 100% in the main artery around the center of the heart. The heart surgeon that did the bypass said I should have died months prior. He guessed that either my left and right heart musseles worked harder to save the center mussele,,, or the Lord saved me. I've had a few catherizations, treads mills, and eco's over the past 19 years. If you have a condition you have to keep a check on it. Hopefully the test will show i'm OK still.

Thoughts and prayers to you Bullhunter, Jim. I had a heart attack 3 years ago (Superbowl Sunday) 98% blocked, they put a stent in and since then all check ups have been good. I'm a diabetic and at the time I smoked and had a job with high stress which didn't help matters any. So I quit smoking and left the job.Sugar numbers have been okay and have a new job now with little to no stress and plenty of exercise. Take it easy guys and let us know how your doing.

Wow! You beat me by a year! But I had a double bypass in 97 at the age of 37. I've had several stress tests since then, and the last one was like you're having this time.
Not nearly as bad as a chemical stress test, I'd rather do the work myself.
Jeff, you just got bad timing is all...

Additional photos taken by my old buddy. This one is off the Omaha Beach Unloading guns and equipment onto small barges to take ashore. After I get back from the hospital and my buddy is feeling like company and talking I'm going to try and get some detailed stories to go with some of these photos.
