I belong to a car club in southern Alabama that has started something that I think is great. We take some of our cars to the Veterans Home for them to see. They especially like cars from the 30's & 40's since this was when most of them got their first car. It would be great if you could read their mind as they stare at a 40 Ford coupe, you know they are reliving something from their past. They also really enjoy having someone to talk to, since they have few visitors. We have also taken this one step further & each club member has "adopted" a veteran & got a Christmas list from their veteran. We will be buying them Christmas gifts & taking them to them before Christmas. It really gives you a good feeling to know that you are making a difference in the life of someone so deserving & often forgotten. I urge anyone with old cars to get involved with a veteran's home in your area. It is very rewarding.....
