Hey all you Green Eagles! Some of you may have got an e-mail from Erv on this but the Evergreen Museum is going to paint 59-0137 in 49th colors. They need to know the FS numbers for the correct shades of green and yellow. My question is were the originals in a gloss (FS first number 1), semi-gloss (2), or matt, (3)? Of course if you know the exact FS numbers that would be great!! Thanks! Mark Edit: Here are some sample pages of greens and yellows. These are gloss. www.colorserver.net/fandeck.asp?page=8 (Gloss Haze Greens) www.colorserver.net/fandeck.asp?page=9 (Gloss Emerald Greens) www.colorserver.net/fandeck.asp?page=5 (Gloss Yellows)

I don't know the colors off hand, and I don't know if there's someone from the paint shop on the board. The Air Force Museum (or whatever they call themselves now) might have the numbers tho. You'd think they do, since they maintain 787.

Virtially all early( '50 thru early70s) aircraft paints were nitrocelluoise lacquers and either gloss or semi-gloss and were labeled Insignia white, yellow (ground power equip),red, blue, black and green......Best I recall, for other colors you went to civil engineers to get.......The colors that I painted the 27th birds were the insignia nitro lacquers indicated..........The Old Sarge

I worked in the paint shop and painted many eagles. We used a gloss enamel labeled forest green. I don't remember the color number, too many years have past. Cliff
