In one of the yahoo groups a friend passed the following URL to the Fleetweek pictures. By pure coincidence it turns out that my friend actually worked on the program to convert F106s into QF106s from '87 'till '60! I hope my friend will join the forum and contribute! home.comcast.net/~bzee1a/These pictures were taken by Bernard Zee. The quality is excellent! Take the time to follow the pointers at the end of the webpage. Bill

Bill,
Great stuff!!! Let's hope the SF Supervisors never get their way else the Blue Angels would be banned from the Bay Area. Thats why (along with past and present congress persons that represent this area) we have virtually no military presence here...not that anyone would want to attack the area.

WOW! All the pictures are great and really thought the 20 second clip of the three low level passes was fantastic. Amazing what the low level flight in burner does to the water. San Francisco is my home town and during WW II and the Korean thing, every week was a sort of fleet week if you were near the waterfront. Lots of naval craft moving in and out of the bay and seaplanes taking off and landing at Treasure Island. While visiting Duxford Air Museum in England I got to see a P40 and a Mustang beat up the aerodrome. What a thrill after so many years away from those beautiful prop driven birds.
