I got doing some searching (like usual) and found a pretty good site I think you will enjoy. The site is American Flyers. I set the link to the entertainment page of the site intentionally. Navigating from the home page is a pain. The site is basically geared towards the aspect of learning to fly, but has some goodies for everyone to see. American Flyers Has a number of videos for viewing, and not just short clips. Some are a half hour or longer in length. Plus any old Fans of Sky King will have a blast. All 64 episdoes from the 1950's are here to watch. (Talk about some nostalgia about 50's TV and back in the day when I just dreamed about flying and fixin' planes). One tip I want to give you is about the sites video player. The presentations are not very big. If you are comuter savy or even if not here is a trick. Go to The Airshows page. Click the first movie (Air Show 1) listed. A smaller second window opens and the show starts in a tiny little window. Now put your mouse on the pop page, not over the video, but the blank area of the pop up window. Right click your mouse and select "View Source". This will open an HTML page with lots of code. Now search the code for a URL link ending with ".asf" On this page the code you are looking for will be <param name="url" value="http://media.americanflyers.net/asf/AF_ENT_Airshow.asf"> Simply copy the media.americanflyers.net/asf/AF_ENT_Airshow.asf part to your clipboard. Now open a second browser window off your desktop like MSN Internet Explorer. Then just delete the .... from the address bar and paste media.americanflyers.net/asf/AF_ENT_Airshow.asf in it's place. Hit return and the movie will start in a larger viewer. The trick is easy. Please note that some files will end in .wmv and not .asf. So when you look at the HTML code watch for both. Piece of cake folks. (If you click the link above for the AF_ENT_ashow.asf file it will run too to show you how it presents. So if you want some play time online, check out the site. The Sky King shows are pretty interesting. Brings back lots of memories here. Plus the "hokey" style of the 50's TV shows will make you checkle a bit I am sure. Enjoy folks. AJ

Hehehe, I have been watching a few episodes of Sky King. One in particular caught my eye. Watch it and tell me if you catch what I did. We all know ideas for characters come from somewhere. Episode 27 really sparked the memory cells. Most of you I am sure have seen "Toy Story". Well if you watchat E 27 very beginning in Kitchen scene look at the character "Clipper", then think "Woody" in "Toy Story". I'll be damned if they didn't model Woody after Clipper. His outfit, build and even the way he wears his cowboy hat are dead ringers for Woodie. Maybe even Penny influenced the female character in the vid. Now stretch your imagination - Buzz = Sky King? Hmm.

That's the show that made me want to be a pilot. Never flew a 310, though. Trivia question: What kind of airplane was the FIRST Songbird??

When this was first shown, I was almost 6 years old. This plane allowed more fighting stunts to take place. I don't know how many times "ole Sky" and the crook of the moment wrestled in the open door during flight.
The "new" plane years later just didn't have the same drama attached to it and was the faded glory of my interest on Saturday mornings.
Such were the days of my youth.
