Now that you're a Registered Member, you can logon and stay logged on for a long period of time.
At the top of the board you will find a graphic that says "login" on it. Click on this graphic.
On the next page you will be presented with a form where you can enter your 'username' and 'password', the ones you created when you regsitered.
Your 'username' AND 'password' is case sensitive.
By default, you will be logged in for 350 minutes (almost 7 hours). There is a checkbox on the login page that will set a permanent cookie allowing you to stay logged in longer than this.
All you need to do is check the box when you are logging in on the login page and you will be automatically logged in evrytime you open your web browser and go to this board.

Just a reminder to all registered members who visit this site as guests... If you log in using your user name and password you can select "permanent" for your log in time and every time you come back you'll already be logged in. Another tip: In your "Favorites" on your browser you can edit the name of the favorite for the Forum with your user name and password in parenthesis. That way, you don't have to hunt for it if you want to log in and leave a post. I like to stay logged in "permanently" so folks can see I'm there. It's also nice to see the names of members who are logged in because it reminds me if I need to leave a post for them. Cheers to all members & guests, Pat Perry PS: while you are logged in you can update your profile in case your email address has changed

Pat, if I'm understanding you correctly logging in permanently only displays you as being logged into the site when the server is conversing with 71.170.197.14, your address. It is now 11:56 p.m. cdt and you are shown as being offline.

Cougar, I manage a number of forums/boards and I think I know what he means. By setting yourself as permanent log on means that when you click the link to here you are automatically remembered and logged on to the board. I use this feature many places for ease. The way it works (in real simple terms) is your browser stores your log on data for here and the board management script does too. Thus when you connect the board query for logon is met with the data from your machine and you are logged in. This feature works for many sites, but care needs to be used opting for it on sites you visit that contain sensitive information on you. The only time you will show as online here is if you are logged in. If you are not you show up as a guest only. AJ

Selecting "permanent" during log-in places a "cookie" in your browser. Next time you visit the site the cookie reminds the server who you are and automatically logs you in. Your name only shows when you are on the site - it disppears when you leave. It's a real convenience for me because I go to the site about 3-4 times a day to see what's new. When I want to reply to a post, I'm already logged in and don't have to go hunting for my username and password. The tip on editing your Favorites titles to list your user name and pass word makes it unnecessary to keep a separate list of all your user names and pass words. It also makes sense to make a back-up copy of your Favorites file in case you lose a hard drive. I DON'T recommend this Favorites tip if several other people have access to use your computer. Like Daoleguy cautions, you don't want to use automatic log-ins for web sites where your private data is stored. Thanks, Pat Perry

Pat Perry Thanks AJ Pat, anytime you log into a site you pick up a cookie for that site if you don't already have one, regardless of how you log on. The more information you submit at the time of logon determines to content of the cookie. Cougar

Hello My name is Mike McAllister, and I am a scuba diver, living in Toronto. I have been shown an underwater image in Lake Huron Ontario, which I intend to investigate this summer. I had been looking for Harvard a/c (AT6-Texan) which were used for training in the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan, and known to have crashed in Lake Huron, to investigate for possible recovery-restoration by the Toronto Aerospace Museum, when I was shown something which didn't look like a straight winged a/c. Convair F-102 & F-106s along with CF-100s,helped to defend north american cities and defense industries from Soviet nuclear attack, flying out of bases in Canada, as well as the northern US. during the Cold War. There is a known wreck of a 106 in Lake Michigan.
Do you know if any 102-106s were lost over the province of Ontario?
The object that I have been shown on a side-scan scroll, lies at a depth of 70', is roughly triangular in shape and was estimated by the owner-operator of the sonar gear to be approximately 40' wide. Mike McAllister
I will let you and/ the USAF Museum in Dayton, know what I find, if it turns out to be a US A/c
