Does Starlite and Firepaste work by reflecting infrared-wavelength rays in the same fasion that a mirror reflects away visible light?
I remember reading about this months ago, and I actually thought about it back then, but never asked anybody. Is that how? (Assuming it's not classified)

All we were told was that our starlight scopes would pull in the light reflecting off of everything from the moon and/or stars and form a picture on the screen in the scope. It was so sensitive that a bright light could damage your eye if the automatic shutoff didn't react quickly enough and turn the unit off.
If you point one straight up into the sky you'd be surprised how many stars you can see up there.
