I was looking at the list of Hughes Trophy winners and in the late sixties it listed the 317th as a winner flying the F-106. I know sixes were deployed up there to a permanent detachment for alert purposes but they were ADC birds and pilots. I don't see how they could compete for the 317th FIS. It's either a typo and should have been F-102s or maybe they were allowed to compete after the 317th was deactivated and before the 43rd was combat ready. Anybody know? Ray Janes
