Was there ever more than one "live" fire of a Genie? I remember seeing a newsreel about a F-89J launching a Genie over the Nevada Test area and the nuclear warhead exploding. Was there ever any other tests like this?

When I was in the 48th from 78 to 82 I heard the older guys talking about an incident at Tyndall. From what I remember they said one was loaded (unknown if live or not) and when the bay doors opened it fell to water. Can't say if the story is true or not but I do remember hearing about it.

Thanks for that story. I was wondering if the warhead was ever tested again, like "BANG"!
