Would like to hear about pilot and crew experiences when the "6s" were based at Galena and King Salmon, Alaska. Anyone out there?

Would like to hear about pilot and crew experiences when the "6s" were based at Galena and King Salmon, Alaska. Anyone out there? I think this link may answer some of your questions. www.airspacemag.com/issues/2007/december-january/thin_aluminum_line.phpThe author contacted me looking for some Six pilots who had been TDY in Alaska. I polled 42 of our 456th pilots and two responded to him with some input (Sherrill and Hanna). Project White Shoes was I believe the TDY to Alaska rotation. I think many squadrons were involved. Enjoy, Pat Perry 456th FIS

Unfortunately the article didn't say much about the various squadrons based in Alaska.
