As I approach the 80th year I have spent on this old planet, I look back at all the friends I have met along the way. This forum has become of those good memories. I guess I now will be one of the "Old Sarges". I fondly recall two of the best Old Sarges I had the privilege of knowing. Both sharded the same first name Jim. We all remember The Old Sarge, Jim Gier for his Irish wit and his world-famous clocks reflecting skilled hands and the F-106. The other Jim was Jim Scanlon, the Old Pastor. I enjoyed our discussions here, but we also maintained e-mail contacts for subjects that went beyond F-106. I wonder how many of you remember Pastor Jim's web site, oldpastoroz.wordpress.com/ The Wizard of Oz. It was a monthly posting of his wisdom and faith. It is still posted and on right side od page is a link to his postings. Both Jims were alike in their love of country and knowledge of right and wrong. But they were opposite in their responses to something I might have said on our forum. The Old Pastor was just that. He found good in everyone and found a pleasant way to tell you that you were out in left field. The old Sarge on the other hand called a spade a spade...nope he called it a frigging shovel. I remember the old sarge had an on-line battle with a friend of mine, Ron from the old 539th FIS. He was an electrician on the six. I did e-mails to both in order to heal the wounds. But I was unsuccessful. He caused the Old Sarge to kick him off site. That was the only time I differed from the Old Sarge. He later tried to contact him and was unable bring him back to site. Of all my assignments and travels I have made friends. I had my mentors as well as my just knew folks. I also had a few wish I had never known folks. I wonder what Biden has screwed up today? Lorin

Lorin Lorin, both Jim Gier and Jim Scanlon [may both rest in peace] were guys we enjoyed hearing from because they didn't mind telling us what they really thought.
I would put you in the same group as both Jims because you know more about computers than most of us on the F-106 Forum and you can give us time to pause and absorb a different view of the problem.
Judy and I just bought new HP computers with Win 11 installed. Like Gary (Bullhunter) says, it's a different animal than Win 10 and requires a lot of new learning. Thank you, Lorin, for helping us F-106 Forum members learn new stuff that helps us! Thanks, Pat P.
