I have all my military patches except one. 63rd Field Maintenance Squadron that was at Norton AFB, CA in the 1970's. Just like to get a picture of it. I've looked the internet and I have had no luck myself. Thanks.

Question would be, are 63rd FMS and 63rd OMS the same unit?
In addition to Jim's, I saw a photo of 63 FMS airmen test firing a Commie SPG-9 recoilless, but the only visible patch was on their caps and just plain numbers/letters "63 FMS".

63rd FMS and 63rd OMS are both maintenance, but different squadrons. FMS are the specialists and OMS are crew chiefs.
I have a message into the Norton Air Museum for help.

Gary, shoot a picture of them so we can see what you have. Collecting patches has become a big deal these days!

Gary, I cropped and brightened your patch collection picture and reduced the size to fit on the Add image button (less than 1 MB). I guess some of these are some extras you have if anyone needs them.
I'd still like to see the the one you are missing for the: "63rd FMS and 63rd OMS are both maintenance, but different squadrons. FMS are the specialists and OMS are crew chiefs."
In the absence of finding an original patch you are looking for, if we had a picture of what you want one could be reproduced for your collection. Pat P.

Pat, Gary doesn't even have an image--he's looking for even a picture to work from.

Pat, Gary doesn't even have an image--he's looking for even a picture to work from. Gary & Diamondback. I looked on the Norton Air Museum website and saw no patches/emblems for the 63rd FMS or OMS. But... I found this Facebook link that Gary may join and ask his questions. They have 1900 members and I'm pretty sure a few of them may remember the 63rd FMS or OMS:
www.facebook.com/groups/60172677639/
Norton AFB had mostly cargo aircraft but also some fighters as base tenants. Gary never said what aircraft he worked on at Norton or whether he was working jet engine shop (OMS) or crew chief flight line or docks (FMS) as an engine troop. I'll bet that some of these 1,900 Norton Alumni may have an emblem/image or patch Gary is looking for.
The USAF Heraldry unit created new squadron emblems and patches since WWII but the changes in squadron subunits (OMS or FMS) usually had special patches made locally for the newer subunits at the whim of newly assigned squadron commanders. It's an ego thing with new CO's to put their "mark" on things like patches and aircraft tail flash markings.

Pat, he's already in touch with the Norton museum, my involvement is only trying to help a fellow member out. Personally, I don't do social media of any kind, it's a stalker paradise...

I think Gary worked the C-141. I was in sister wing at McChord from 1980-1983 the 62nd MAW, but I worked on C-130 there. I seem to remember Norton as being a weird Wing not like McChord which had both C-141 and C-130. The C-141 had an Associate wing (Reservist) just like McChord. But it's strange that I couldn't find any references to any of the Standard Wing Squadrons (AMS,OMS,FMS etc) except the Flying Squadrons...the Ops Squadrons. I also found a Bio of a General Officer who had been OIC of the C-141 Maintenance Blue Flight. So could Norton have been different in that maintenance was part of Ops Squadrons like old Fighter Wings? BTW, The Reserve Associate Wing at Norton, the 445 Wg, transferred to WPAFB and now flies the C-17. Lorin
