I'm not talking about low level, the Thud easily holds that one...
At high altitude, which of the two would take home the trophy in a dash?

thats easy. Which one goes "thud" and i have worked them both. seen altimeter on 6 stuck at 102,000, and seen the thud dance with missles. both good birds but I wouldn't be on this forum if it wasn't for the 6

C'mon guys. Why compare apples to oranges. They were both great birds, but all together different in design & use. What would the F106 done over Vietnam? (of course if they had the gun would have made great MIG killers) Spent 6 years on each one of them & belong to both an 105 & 106 group. ADC duty was great, but for me the F105 was easier to work on for an AFCS tech. (plus they shared the sweet sounding J75!!!!!)
