It doesn't seem to be your usual convergent-divergent engine-nozzle that you see on ordinary fighters.

It doesn't seem to be your usual convergent-divergent engine-nozzle that you see on ordinary fighters. To my knowledge, the J-75 had the typical convergent-divergent nozzle used on all Pratt-n-Whiskey engines of that time frame. It may be that what you are looking at is the cooling shroud nozzle; the engine nozzle not visible until you were somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 degrees behind the acft, perpendicular to the centerline.

The only other thing is you may be seeing the idle thrust reducer that allowed the Six to idle and taxi at proper RPM and still not blow everything around. Jack
