I know Col John Blyth and worked with him, he was a member of the McChord Air Museum Foundation. We did a display on him at the museum. Then during an Air Force Ball my wife and I moved that display to the ball room of the Club where it got lots of attention. My wife and I waited in line and met the Commander of MAC. He asked questions about the museum and then mentioned the Airlift Rodeo coming to the base. He asked if it was possible to get the aircraft restored before that time. I told him it was very possible but we did not have money for contracts and all we got each year for a budget was $1,200 for the year. He asked how much I thought it would take to restore the last couple of aircraft. I had no idea and through out $50,000 Several days later I was called to the HQ Offices and the Commander asked me if I asked the Commander of MAC for funds for the museum. I told him I did not, he asked about a figure and I guessed $50,000. The Commander then said $50,000 just came in for the museum, you should have asked for more. Anyway I enjoyed the talks I had with Col Blyth. He was quite the gentleman.

The picture from left to right is the Sec Of Air Force "Dr. Windall" during her visit to the Museum. Next is Col John Blyth. Far right is myself. I just can't remember the exact year this was taken.

i see 3 people and a shadow The shadow is Col Blyth's display I put together. Its his flight suite and flight gear put on a mannequin. That year his display was one of the ones I set up at the USAF Ball at the NCO Club. Wife and I attend that USAF Ball.
