It's been awhile since I've visited this site so not sure what spot to use for this note. I visited Joe this afternoon at the care facility in Santa Rosa. Joe is very weak and eating little having not recovered from 2 falls last year. He has the realization he must eat but is unable, he has lost serious weight. Mentally he is as sharp as ever and does read. I would encourage his many friends to drop a line and send encouragement or better yet, if in the area drop by, he would love some company. Col. Joe Rogers London House 4650 Hoen Ave. Santa Rosa, CA 95405 707 546 0471 Please spread the word. Bill

A couple pics of Col Rogers in Korea with "The Buckeye Blitz" also known as "Little Joe's Red Eraser". For the model builders this kit is available from Tamiya in 1/48 (kit no. 61044) and 1/72 (kit no. 60754) both with his decals! It's market as the Korean War F-51 but according to Joe they all called them P-51s of course! Enjoy!

It's market as the Korean War F-51 but according to Joe they all called them P-51s of course! Enjoy! The P-51 is the only fighter made in the 40s that never made the transition from "P" tp " F"... even the P-80 slid right in to the new name......Just saying P-51 is music to my ears as is the sound of that MERLIN engine. Flying the P-51 was the world's greatest substitute for SEX evr devised,,,,Workin on it was the next best....I know, I did both.... The Old Sarge PS: At me age naow, it would be even better than that!!
