Got on the forums yesterday (May Day), made a quick post about my Panamanian coin, then read "This Day in Aviation History" on the home page about Captain Gary Powers. (Yes, "Captain" Powers. He was eventually award recognition for military service during his CIA, U-2 days, and after his passing was promoted to Captain, and awarded the Silver Star, DFC, POW Medal, and National Defense Service Medal.) I literally spent the rest of the day poking around on-line reading about him, and the U-2 Incident, and eventually found this formerly-classified, CIA document. It's 406 pages long, and I made it through Chapter 1 before I realized I had to go to work the next morning (today)! www.foia.cia.gov/sites/default/files/DOC_0000190094.pdfMost of it has been declassified, but there are a few pages still "whited out". So far it is a very good read on how the CIA became involved in what they call Overhead Reconnaissance. I downloaded it so I could read it at my leisure, but suspect I will spend time reading it quickly! If nothing else, click on the link, and scroll through the table of contents. You may find something that interests you, but the background I've read so far is fascinating, and I'm on my way to continue reading. Hope to pick up the latest version of Captain Powers' book too. www.amazon.com/Operation-Overflight-Memoir-U-2-Incident/dp/1574884220Enjoy! Mark O Edit: By the way, the only previous book I read on the U-2 incident was, 'Mayday: Eisenhower, Khrushchev, and the U-2 Affair' by Michael R. Beschloss from 1988. I'm sure I purchased it very shortly after it came out, and also sure I still have it. More of the political side of incident, but as I recall it was a good read. Going to have to dig through my boxes, and find it again. www.amazon.com/Mayday-Eisenhower-Khrushchev-U-2-Affair/dp/0060155655
