I never noticed that door before. When the troops from rgafb rode to Malmstrom during the augmentee flight we flew in the 141. also rode to Korea in it.

On that website I listed, I saw all three kinds of doors on the 141s. Drop down with steps, one like you posted and one pull in and rail up.
Just like a Corvette I guess, you can order them with different options and trim packages.

Can't find the one I saw but it was similar to this one. Has steps but a vehicle was in the way and you couldn't tell if the door was hinged down with steps on it.
The one you posted was on a cloud server somewhere
but I couldn't backtrack the URL and find out who posted it.
I also googled "C-141 crew door mods" and found a bunch of stuff on door accidents but no crew doors.
It was the first heavy aircraft I ever saw that could take off and ascend with a straight and level attitude. The engines had a unique gear box sound with a high pitch jet sound.

the one with the hummer is a b mod w/ refueling pod. the doors pushed in and rolled up like 99.9% did...the bottom is an a mod. before they even painted them in cammo... still looking for different variants.
interesting about recorded door accidents.. in '99 or so i got wacked in the skull by the bottom of the step that pops out when the door decends to its fully opened position on the c-17. that was concussion #7 complete with a dozen staples. the first and hopefully last staple. brought the stitch count over 150...

Worked on the C-141 for 5yrs 603rd Massq Kadena Air base Okinawa. Never saw a door like that. I am pretty sure at one time or another I saw every C-141 in the fleet come through kadena. Do any of you old 141 troops know what TRT means??

C-141's were mas my first assignment after Chanute tech school. Travis AFB 602 OMS, ISO Docks I was assigned the Ramp Section working with my supervisor who was an ARTS guy Mr. Adams, been working there for years and years. Our doors didn't pop up like that I think that was earlier. There I am young and skinny damn a life time ago. Yup TRT Takeoff Rated Thrust.
