Well, Jim suggested it was getting boring in the forums. I agree it has been quiet.
So, I was thinking about a subject I could start where I had quite a few pictures.
Spent four great years in USAFE Command and kept a 110 Kodak pocket camera with me.
Met some great people who I'm friends with until this day and we keep in touch.

I first arrived at Sembach AB in the late summer of 1978. All that was on the base was four CH-53 choppers. It was a few months before the aircraft were to arrive. I was tasked as the NCOIC of the new phase dock. I asked what aircraft were we getting and was told 10's as the SMSgt sort of mumbled it. I figured the A-10 Warthog commonly called the "Tank killer". I was a jet engine technician so I thought to myself, "good they have TF-33 Turbo Fan Jet Engines and I worked those before on C-141's at Norton AFB, CA.
Too keep busy and fight boredom I assisted the mechanic's now and then work on the CH-53 while waiting for the aircraft to arrive. The squadron also got a message/request from the Red Cross asking I be sent back to the east coast because my wife's father had died. Two and a half years later we separated and later got a divorce and I got sole custody of our to children in the separation & divorce.
These stories and more, including pictures, are all covered in detail in a book I wrote covering 24 years of military service. Its all on a CD and its $10 including shipping. If interested just message me. Attachments:
