I have a Engineer friend who has a hard copy 1F-106A-3 [Rev March 1961 effective for A & B models]. He wants to find a home for it on the F-106 Website or in a museum that has F-106s on display. I am picking it up tomorrow on my way to the All Troops F-106 Reunion in Colorado Springs.
He asked me this question: ALSO… Know anyone in the F-111 world???
I have an F-111 Structural Breakdown Document published by GD (FZM-12-6282 [1969]). This has several hundred line drawings showing elements of the acft in great detail. I got this one during a SM-ALC visit… The USAF had just pulled the plug on F-111s… so PDM/engineering support simply went into low-gear as the acft was removed from service. The -111 group let me have this document ‘just-in-case’ a -111 [USAF or AAF] ever went through Kadena AB where I was stationed and needed help [yeah, right]. Include configuration-arrangements, production illustrations, crash recovery, primary assembly/detail drawing numbers, etc…
He wants to find a good home for this so I am looking for someone in the F-111 world who would be glad to have this. I know a few of you have mentioned that you spent time on the F-111 and you may still know some die-hard Aardvark fans through Forums or FaceBook. Please give me a contact name if you have one.
Thanks, Pat P.

I spent 6 years at Upper Heyford UK working on F-111E. But it was in the Flight Simulator. I did get tasked to do some weekend AMS Supervisor duty. I never got involved in much of the maintenance area. As far as avionics goes, it was nothing like the MA-1 System. Most everything was sent off to Depot for shop level work. In MA-1 we fixed everything on flight line or in mock-up. We had very little done by depot. The original Stable Table was an exception.

WOW!
Lorin, that is a great booklet, and a real asset to you and anyone interested in the Six.
I will be passing it along to a few friend who are interested in airplanes.
