I wrote this as a new postscript for the new Schiffer book that recently came out on the F-101. So far, the response has been pretty good. I received a very nice review by none other than Lt. Col. Burton Waltz (Ret.), who has some association with the RF-101. For anyone interested, here is a link to my dusty little corner of cyberspace where I posted it. As I read over it, I see that I have a lot to add but it's a start. fighterwriter101.blogspot.com/2015/04/an-alternate-postscript.htmlEnjoy!

or Google this and find it at many, many other locations The F-101 Voodoo: An Illustrated History of McDonnell's Heavyweight Fighter
Detailed item info
Description Conceived in the waning days of World War II as an escort for the mammoth Convair B-36 bomber, the McDonnell Model 36 Voodoo first took to the air in 1948. With advances in turbojet technology, aerial refueling, and miniaturized nuclear weapons, the Model 36 was recast as a fighter-bomber of unimaginable firepower: the F-101A Strategic Fighter. Overcoming tremendous developmental challenges, the Voodoo served into the late-1980s, nearly forty years after its maiden flight. As a nuclear strike aircraft, reconnaissance platform, and reliable high-performance interceptor, the McDonnell F-101 Voodoo carries the sole distinction among the famed Century Series fighters of serving in the most trouble spots, from the era of Eisenhower and Khrushchev through that of Reagan and Gorbachev, in the waning days of the Cold War. Based on hundreds of pages of recently declassified documents, this new work brings the Voodoo into its long-denied place in the limelight.

Thank you gentlemen, and extremely sorry for the very late response! I've been running down a few rabbit holes at something just shy of Mach 10 the past few months, mostly on a bunch of false starts. However, I think I might have something coming together for a new book on early ADC interceptors. I haven't found as much as I would like yet on the development of the system that started it all, the Hughes E-1, but in the course of research over the past week have fleshed out much of its combat record with the F-94B over Korea and also run across a few recent items that, quite unfairly, put the F-94 and its crews in a bad light and seem to do so on very thin and slanted historical data. I would be very interested in any feedback from guys involved with those older interceptors or who are in a position to offer some real insight. This is pretty much a thumbnail sketch and needs deeper research, but here is what I posted today: fighterwriter101.blogspot.com/2015/06/lies-and-damned-lies-night-fighter-ops.htmlJim Too--I think I must have missed your comment and will go look for it right now. Sorry, my friend! Cheers! Ron Easley

Very informative.
I never worked on the 94, but was around the "C" model.
However, I did work on the F-86D/L and the F-89J.
Both "state of the art" when first flown, but outdated very quickly as the Voodoo came along, then the Deuce and Six.
