I moved this thread to where it truly belongs. Our prayers are with you and your family MArv. Pat click to enlarge Bridget M. Donnelly April 17, 1949 to November 25, 2007, beloved wife of Marv Donnelly and Honorary Crew Chief of the 87th FIS. Marv's Original Message ******************************* Gentlemen, I rece'd the Following letter from our goood friend MArv, he now needs some prayers and support. The Old Sarge Well good morning there!.......... I'm sorry to say that my plans for a trip to your neck "O" the woods have been preempted. Bridget is now in a hospice care center for that bad case of Melanoma cancer. It has spread and the outlook is not good. She is doing as best as can be and I'm holding up fairly well. I am not sure of how much more I can really take. But with a lot of help from the Lord above, I guess I'll make it. I've had to make plans for things that I hoped to only have to do at a much later date in my life. Say "Howdy" to Sandy for me, and keep us in your prayers. God Bless you two! MArv

God Bless, and please keep us posted when you can.

When something affects me deeply I've found that writing about it helps me get through. I have looked on the San Antonio Express web site but they have not posted Bridgette's obituary yet. If you feel up to it, please write and tell us about her. You can write here on the forum or send it to Jim and he'll send it out to his email network. We'd all like to know how you feel and how we can help. Best Regards my Irish friend, Pat Perry

I agree with Pat. Bridget is half of you. Share some stories about your ventures. I am more than certain you two had a many wonderful and probably humorous adventures. Marv, share some of her and your smiles here. We all may not be blood related, but as you well know, in the USAF we were all like family (especialy us FIS folks). That was how it was and still is. I know in the old Irish tradition it is a wonderful tribute.
Bless you AJ

I want to thank everyone for their prayers and support and kind words. This is a very special bunch of people we have in the F-106 family. Bridget certainly was amazed at just how many people participated in the discussions, and how much knowledge we all shared. Bridget loved the role of Air Force wife (Albeit a retired one) and often took that role very seriously. She talked with so many of her personal friends about the opportunities she had with me to go-see-do and enjoyed telling everyone of her chance as a "Crew chief' on the Sawyer Six. She was so proud of that moment! Here is the website for the obituary in the San Antonio Express News, as of this mornng, 28 November. Please feel free to make an entry. "http://www.legacy.com/sanantonio/Obituaries.asp?Page=Lifestory&PersonId=98726771" I thank you all. MArv click to enlarge Bridget M.
