Post by Jim Scanlon (deceased) on Mar 21, 2014 9:26:12 GMT 9
During July 2007, after a couple years of looking at the Six Forums, I decided it was time to join those who were already members.
In those nearly Seven Years, I have made 3,999 posts.
This post is number Four Thousand.
In those posts, I have posted some funny things, some political things, some personal things, some war stories, some stories about others, some prayer requests, some things I should not have posted, some thing that lauded others, some things that I had tears in my eyes as I posted them.
I have seen some people come on this site, and then leave, some were booted, others just quit for some reason.
I have posted on the deaths of some of our members, and read posts from others of deaths of some of our members.
I have written what I hoped were words of comfort to those left behind, after a member or their spouse went to the Final Muster.
I came close to quitting once, because of one former member, but the Leadership took care of that, and I am still here.
I have made some of you angry, some of you laugh, some of you tear up, and some of you wondering what in the world is he talking about.
Over the years I have met some of you, and fully enjoyed every minute of the time we were together.
I have met a couple of your wives and found them to be wonderful ladies and gracious hostesses.
In the years past, I have come to know some of you quite well, even if we never met.
I have talked to some on the phone, but never met.
I have sent and received personal messages, either through this site, or through e-mails.
I have talked to widows in waiting, or corresponded via e-mails, who then became widows in fact, after their beloved passed on.
I have prayed with some of you in person, and some on the phone, and more because you asked or I thought you needed prayer.
I have prayed for your wives, your children, your parents, your friends and others you asked prayer for.
I have been asked for spiritual advise or opinion, and have been happy to do what I could to answer.
Some of those answers were quite short, some were almost book length.
I feel that some of my best friends are members of this group, even those I have not met.
I want to thank each of you for your friendship and for sharing your lives with me, and the other members.
I want to thank Pat McGee for inventing this Forum, continually maintaining and upgrading it, so we can continue to communicate with each other, and for allowing us to be a part of his labour our love.
I can think of few things that give me more pleasure than to call you Friends.
To you, my Fellow Patriot Warriors, I salute you and thank you for your service, your support of our Air Force, our Constitution, our Liberty and our Flag.
It is with a full heart that I say Thank You for being a part of my life.
My hope for each of us is that we will meet again, either on this Earth or in Glory.
I Love each and every one of you.
Jim Too

Pastor Jim, Congratulations on your 4000th post. I'm sure your second 4000 will be just as thought provoking as the first. If you figure average 20 minutes per post (counting research for the longer ones), that is 1333 hours of seat time on this old airplane forum. Probably deserves a Distinguished Flying Cross or two. Not to mention your emailed blog articles "The Soapbox of OZ". Love you Bud. Keep them coming. Pat P.
