Great website. I found it looking for some pictures of F-106's to show my son.
I'd like to mention my father, SMSGT Eugene Chason, who worked on F-106's at Andrews AFB, Dover AFB (95th FIS), Selfridge AFB (94th), and Clark AFB (13th AF?, 405th AMS), PI. When I was young, dad would sometimes take us to the end of the runway when he knew a flight was going to take off. The big show was when the pilots popped in their afterburners. I have fond memories whenever I see an F-106 or F-102.
The 95th is now at Tyndall AFB. Before dad passed away he visitied the 95th during an open house, and they treated him as royalty when they found out he was in the 95th in the 60's. That really did him good.
He passed away in 2004. I really miss him. He was buried in his dress blues.

If it's ok with you I'll add your father in our F-106 Alumni database, which I host at f-106deltadart.webexone.com. The database is 1789 strong now. I also welcome you to register as a member of the Forums here.

That would be fine. Here's some more info - He worked in a squadron with 106's from ~1959 - 1970. From my remembrances, his area was electronics (fire control). He was a crew chief first at Andrews AFB, and ended up as First Sargent of 405th AMS when we left the Philippines. After we left the PI, the AF reassigned him to non-flight squadrons since he worked as a 1st Sargent until he retired. But I know he was always proud of his days working on the F-102's, F-106's, T-33's, and F-4's.
I do remember him going TDY to Tyndall from Dover for the William Tell competition. He also metioned that he was at Andrews during the Cuba Missile crisis - and that were loading nukes on the planes and getting them up ASAP. He was kind of concerned that if we were loading nukes, would the Soviets be doing the same thing, and since he was only a few miles from DC....luckily every thing worked out well.
Thanks.
