Thank you Jim. I'm looking forward to the day because both Sue and our granddaughter have been telling me how they can't wait for my birthday to get here so they can give me the gift they got me. Normally I just enjoy going to lunch or dinner with them and the rest of my girls, but they have made a big deal out of this that I can't wait to see what the gift is.

Give us an update on your medical condition. I'm glad you are out of the hospital and hope you are doing well. Pat P.

Okay Pat, since you asked, I will tell you that I am doing very well. I have a few little issues to work out and I have an appointment next week with the Orthopedic clinic. It was at my request. I use a cane most everywhere I go and will probably continue to use one even after my knee is no longer an issue. I also have a bad back and I use the cane for balance. The incision has been healed for some time now but it sure is an ugly scar! I was going to PT three times a week for about a month when they measured and timed me and said I have met all the goals they had for me and that any exercises I do there, I can do at home just as easily. So they discharged me. I have been driving for a month or so now and the leg is doing well. I have been out of the hospital for several months now and my stay in the hospital is all a long ago memory. It's hard to realize that it has been so ago long now. I will probably be on some kind of antibiotics for life now since I am a high risk for infection. I have to go in for them to draw blood tomorrow. They will be able to keep an eye on things that way. That's about all there is right now, Pat, but thanks for asking. I will continue to improve I'm sure. Mike

lugnuts, WHAT ABOUT THE BIRTHDAY GIFT??

The gift? Oh yeah, the gift. Well, so far, there isn't one. My granddaughter is with one of her cousins at a hotel that has a water park. They are also celebrating a birthday so they went to this hotel. When she gets home, I'm sure she will want to give me her gift. I think it's something she made for me but when I find out what it is, I will report it here.
By the way, Sue and I went to Outback Steakhouse last evening. I had been craving a Surf & Turf dinner so that's what I had. I even had a couple glasses of wine with the meal and it was all very good. I enjoyed the dinner and the company. Sue and I don't get a lot of time together so when we do, it's always a treat.

Enjoying a good meal and conversation with your Best Friend.
That is very special.
