Received from a friend - Pat P. (I have been on these when the only thing you could see at landing was the wings flex when the main gear touched down).
MD-11 Low visibility landing
I never flew with this Captain, notice they break out of the fog right when ground prox says "minimums". That would be at 100'.. This is a CAT III landing because the F/O flew it, the Capt. takes over by 500' and lands "visually", while the F/O stays on the gauges.. Notice you hear an alarm that says "AUTOPILOT!!" on the landing roll - that's because we were required to leave it on the entire landing!! It tracked you right down the centerline. I know it's World Airways from the checklist they're using. Brings back good memories of flying the troops!!
The bottom center of the screen is a little gadget we called ADAM. It allowed us to communicate with the company anywhere in the world, see our hotel and airline flight reservations, and see the airport approach charts. The Capt. scrolls the screen right after landing to see the low-vis taxi chart.
Looks best in wide-screen with sound on. Touchdown is at the 5 min marker
