All Aircraft buffs, Thanks to Richard Burns for this spectacular footage from the 1945 airshow! Thanks Richard. Bobski This is for all you propeller fellers: 1945 air show at Freeman Field in Seymour, Indiana The film is poor quality, but there are pix of rare a/c... Spectacular 10.5 minute piece of film... Nazi Jets....Nazi Helicopters. Italian fighters. Heinkel 111….. Flying JU-88's. Fascinating footage of captured weapons and Axis aircraft at a 1945 air show at Freeman Field in Seymour, Indiana. This footage is ONLY four months after the German surrender, and just one month after the Japanese surrender! Nearly a 70 year look back at a Victory celebration, at the end of the WWII. With music by Glen Miller and his band. Glenn was shot down over the English Chanel while heading to England to perform for the troops. www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=1723870789084Pat P.

part of the show had a large model display... found this... An A-model kit with "Bones Crusher" of the 87th FIS for the nose art, 27th FIS tail markings, and a tail number of a B-model. I think my head is going to explode. Sigh...

That kit has markings for the 456th (as seen on the box art), and early 48th FIS markings.

I think my head is going to explode. Sigh... Mark, that is what happens when someone just puts a model together and uses whatever decals they see, not knowing, or caring if they are correct.
What I can see of the lower shelf, shows the same "care" in grouping mixed types together.
Guess someone just put them where they would fit.
I am not a modeler, but I appreciate well put-together models, with correct decals and weapons.
I grind my teeth many times when reading books and seeing obvious mistakes on airplanes.
One author, of a WW2 History, had the B-24 as a Martin design, not Consolidated.
There is a book of Fighter Airplane Pictures and other info, that has a picture of the Deuce on the Dart page, with all the Dart info under it.
When mistakes like that are made, how reliable is the rest of the book?
Don't let your head explode, someone will have to clean up the mess.
