I just learned that a friend of mine that was supposed to attend the F-106 reunion wasn’t able to attend. He was supposed to mention that I have written a book about flying the F-106 in the 94th FIS. I didn’t ask Bruce because I thought he had enough to do with the speech. Any way it is a history of the 94th from WW I until the Sixes were transferred to the Guard and the 94th transitioned into the F-4. It is mostly about the Cold War when the unit flew the F-86D and the F-106. I was with Bruce in the unit in the Six and also in the Deuce with him in the 317th. I first wrote a history of the 317th for Joe Rogers who was the CO and holds the speed record in the Six. Everybody liked it and I took it to a 94th reunion and they asked me to do one for them. It’s called SPADs and Sixes because it covers every thing between the two birds. Also because we restored a SPAD and flew it in honor of Eddie Rickenbacker when he attended our 50th Celebration. There are two accounts of the three flights we flew it. If anybody is interested in a copy I’ll be happy to ship it to them if they send me a check for $30 including shipping to
