I'm beginning to make some updates over on the www.f-106deltadart.com/ website. Main Page- Still in-work...
- More Drop-down menus to try and clean it up a bit without loosing the easy to find/see links
- Change in the Search field and button location AND it's results location. Try it and see.
Photo Gallery- The Photo Gallery will no longer baked into each page.
- Instead links to any gallery will open in a New Window/Tab.
- Allow you to actually see the URL of the gallery or photo.
- Allows photos to open up into the viewing capabilities to the native, full-size gallery viewing potential rather than automatically crop any large photos to the limit of a particular page.
- Opens up more space on the gallery fo bigger thumbnails.
FIS and Other Pages - The Title section will be slightly modified and will add a Gallery Button to that pages Photo Gallery.
- These pages will have no photo's, only a link to the gallery.
- The 87th FIS page is the only one done at this point, which I am tweaking to use as a template. Check it out and give me some feedback on what you want to see there.
Left-side Menu - I debated whether to eliminate it altogether, BUT I like having all the links at my fingertips on every page... maybe it's just me, but I hate BACKing out of stuff just to get anywhere.
- So, what I've done so far is trim it down some, removing some of the less important links and adding them to the Top Menu Drop-down e.g the Community on top.
- Again, I want feedback as to what you guys like/don't like in this. Is is really needed? Is it better full scale vs trimmed?
Feedback as always is greatly appreciated.

I really like the photo gallery idea however, I'll need to get on a real computer to fully appreciate it. As far as the left hand column, I have always liked that, and agree with your reasons for keeping it. That said, you may as well keep all the items on it. I don't think it takes up that much more space at all, but maybe that's just me.

I agree with Mark on both items.
I have not taken the time to look at everything, but I see no issues with any of the things you are making modifications on.

OK - Where is the page for LOWRY AFB, or any other Air Training Command pages? I have a bunch of info that can be used and placed on a page dedicated for ATC. I know - the ATC guys did not get the glory of touching a REAl six, but without our training and support ---!?!?!? WHO knows! MArv

However, that search engine is a piece of crap, if you know enough to fill in all the cracks, you damn near know enough to find it by searching each and every thread individual. Some times it wil take the first 2 letters or the last 2, and sometimes even letters in the middle of a word and will bring up every post that contains those letters.... The old search, you could type in Loring or Loring AFB and it would bring up every posting on that subject. Not so with this one. Why should my browser have any influence on this web's search capabilities? ?? Sorry about calling it a piece of crap, but it is frustrating to use

I've been thinking about the absence of a TAC logo on the home page. Just wondering about the number of Sixers who only served in the TAC days, and if that might be enough of an attention grabber to get them in(volved)/visiting.
Of course it's all academic, but if my original AF enlistment would have happened in June, 1982, AND I would have got the Six (I was guaranteed enlistment as a 431), I would have been a TAC guy, never to wear an ADC patch.
There has to some folks out there that fit that description. Pilots too, perhaps.

Lets not contaminate this site- Tac and ADTAC was nothing more than a political maneuver to accelerate the demise of the SIX

MOW, Every tweak you have done makes it better. It looks like we have picked up about 20-30 new members as a result of the F-106 Reunion at Dayton. I'm still wondering when the ANG F-106 guys will finally show up... guess they are just not old enough yet to start looking for their past like we all did. The home page on the main site has to be "busy" because there is so much content here. It's like the home page is 10 feet wide but the content is 4 miles deep. That's a good problem to have. Man, things have grown since I first came here 13 years ago by typing F-106 into Google. This is the most comprehensive military aircraft website I have ever seen. You da man MOW. Pat P.

Thanks guys, appreciate your support and comments, truly. Another change I'm making is with the Static Display pages. I am basically eliminating the indivudual aircraft display pages that used iframes with the photo gallery embedded in it, and modifying the actual Photo Gallery page themselves as the new Display page for the jet. You can see what I've done so far with the top few A models on the Display page. Click any of the first couple jets like 56-0451 and you'll see what I mean. It takes you right to the photo gallery of that jet which now includes the text from the older displays page. Again, this allows for full-size photo viewing with no cropping due to page size. Hit your F5 key to refresh the page if it takes you to the old one. Update: I have all the B Model ones finished and about half the A Models, so your chances of clicking on an updated page is much greater now.
