According to accounts from those who were there fighting him on the ground, Charlie always WAS a resourceful sort... too bad he was playing for the wrong team.

Whilst in Thailand, I did a bit of travelling around the countryside on my 50cc Honda.
One day a Thai friend and I went to a fish farm outside Ubon, just to look around.
All of the floats between the fish ponds were made from Rocket and Missile containers.
It was interesting to see how they were also used to make rafts for the workers to manuever around the ponds.
Most every village I would visit had lots of things made with "surplus" containers, courtesy of the 8th TFW.
When at Da Nang, there was a shanty village off the end of the runways, which was made from discarded munitions containers.
Years ago, 1950s, many drop tanks, Firebees, and other targets, were used for various purposes, across the Mexican Border from the Yuma Gunnery Range.
I imagine there are tons of things built from all kinds of "surplus" containers, etc., in Iraq and Afghanistan.
When people who don't have much, find something they can utilize, no matter the country, they will find a use for them.
Look at how many people in our country are living in "surplus" Conex boxes, Dumpsters and other things they can make in to a "house".
Good for the resourcefulness of the people in Viet Nam, who, under Communism, certainly don't have much.
I like the way they have fitted small engines in to the tanks.
I bet they are pretty fast, but maybe not very stable. I'm sure MOW knows of places near him that are also made of "surplus" materials.
Remember: "One man's trash is another man's treasure."
