CAF Lake Superior Squadron PBY Catalina undergoing restoration to flying status in hanger 103. Former shops on the east side of the hanger house a great little military museum. Attachment Deleted

Looks like the CAF is spreading out their inventory, in case of "enemy" air attack.
Great to see those beautiful old girls at Duluth.
Maybe more people will get to see, and appreciate them.
Looks like there is a second Catalina in the hanger.
Is it, too, going to be restored to flight status, or for static display?
During WW2 I saw many Catalinas and other Amphibians take off and land, including former Pan Am Clippers.
Beautiful to watch go across the waters of San Francisco Bay and slowly lift off.

We'll be going to Duluth in Sept. Will have to check my old base out. Is hanger 103 the T-33 hanger or the 6 hanger? I don't recall.

The hanger was built in the very early 50's.

I think the second Cat will remain a static and parts source

It is the 6 hangar I think. If so it housed OM and FTD among others. Also where one of our B models sat on cradles for a long time after an aft tank fire (I think). Back in my cobweb area.
