Just had an interesting problem. Below is a screen print with IE 8 on left and Firefox on right. On Firefox when the Recently Updated Posts page is displayed, the page number selection bar is active for 1-2 seconds and the goes dead. You can't change page numbers. If you hit refresh and click a page number within 1-2 seconds the page will change. No problem with IE 8. The page number selection bar never goes dead. I think it may be a browser problem with Firefox or maybe I'm missing an Add-On. Will check it out an let you know. Pat P. Attachment Deleted

Firefox is good for one page change. The next one won't happen. If you select Recent Posts at the top of the page, you can start over and get one page change before it won't advance again. IE 8 on the other hand works OK with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. page changes but it is very slow for the 3rd and subsequent changes. This may be a traffic related problem or maybe I'm being too impatient waiting for the system to compose the next page for viewing. Pat P.

I don't know - but last night it took over 2 hours to get on the forum, and then I couldn't go anyplace. 10-15 min of trying and Internet explorer unable to connect. Run troubleshooting and it would say IE able to connect to forum - but nothing would open.... Go figure

You know, it might be a good idea if ProBoards had a traffic meter display option that could be put on forum screens to show users what the current traffic is doing. All the radio and TV stations have traffic reports to keep people from getting in a traffic jam. This visual is available at SpeedTest.net and they offer a forum URL to copy to your clipboard. It's great to test how fast my network connection is getting to the forum but doesn't tell me anything about how the traffic is on the ProBoards servers. Pat P.

Speed at the destination end isn't very telling of your actual connection speed. The traffic is to dynamic, because it is different from all different source locations and can even be different from the same source depending on which base server your traffic takes, which may not always be the same.

Yea, I see now also that it no longer grays-out, but it also will not let you click past Page 2. I'm having them look into it.

I generally don't even try to get to the site from work any more. I usually end up with a "network error". Only does it at work, browser makes no difference. I'd say it's the FAA's issue, not the website's.

Something in the Karma plug-in is affecting it. I've disabled Karma while I check.

I temporarily enabled Karma again a few days ago, because this pagination issue when using Recent Posts seemed to be partially working. I can get 3 page change clicks out of it now before it quits. But, it still drives me crazy when it does stop.
How bad is this bothering others? Is it better to keep the Recent Posts page # working 100% and keep Karma off?

MOW, My two cents: From Wimpy burgers: "I'll gladly trade a Karma tomorrow for a working page change today". Not having page numbers working is a PITA when you are looking for a post or thread. Besides, we can always give a Karma in the text of a post. It just doesn't advance the count. Thanks, Pat

I agree, just didn't want to ruffle any feathers if you guys liked using it. For now, Karma is gone, and I see no reason to bring it back.
