I snapped a pic the other day after picking up the mail. I'm standing at the end of the Osan AB Exchange Mall called "Mustang Mall" facing the base theater with Chili's off to the right and Osan billeting "Turumi Lodge" behind Chili's. For thos who remember the before days, the Mustang Mall takes up the entire area where the old stores. The Credit Union was right there on the corner where I'm now standing, then we had the bank, post office, barber shops, book store, mini-mall, bowling alley, etc. Mar 2013 Attachment Deleted1997 Here's the intersection you can't see in the photo's above, which would be just to the left of those shots. This is 2005, the theater is across the road to the right just out of camera view. This is all just for reference sake.

Nov 1970- no pic, but I believe that there were Quonset Huts where the theater is now. Your 1997 pic and the 2013 view shows what happens to trees in 43 years... The only trees I really remember in 70 were those scrubby things around what they called Consolidated Base Personell. Actually, all USAF personell assigned to Korea processed in at Osan

Chili's?
When did our bases get Chili's?
Must be an OCUS thing.
Jim Too
I first remember seeing one on Kadena in 2004 during a Pacific Tanker Task Force mission, so it must have been just before then. Yea, it's an OCONUS thing.

I don't recall seeing Quonsets on that corner in any of the photos, but across the street on the railroad track side there was a line of them down the road a ways.

Steel building was our Jr NCO Barracks. Latrine was down the hill about 100 yds away. Other shots were ROK Parimeter Defenses.
