I'm not sure if I've seen very many for F-106s units, but I'm sure a few are out there. Did they even call them "morale patches" back then? We sure had them when I flew -- as a crew chief, and a flight engineer -- but they were strictly forbidden to wear around the squadron, or base. "Friday patches" were the only exception. In my last squadron we wore our squadron "heritage" patch (the version from WWII) as our Friday patch. Does this one bring back any memories for you 87th FIS guys? I love it!

When we deployed to Osan in 1968 with 318th FIS we had both 25 and 50 mission patches to Chicoville. A visit to corpsman for 50ml of penicillin would zero slash your mission count. I never visited corpsman, but did manage to get my 25 mission patch. Lorin

Very true. Our Flight Surgeon for 318th used to go between all 4 bars back then passing out latex candy in foil wrap.
