De and I are on our way to Disneyland, to celebrate our anniversary. Just the two of us, going to one of our favourite places for three days. We will then be going to San Jose, and yes, "I do know the way to San Jose" , to visit my cousin. Then to Overton, NV to visit our daughter and her family. Then back to Texas on 13 February. So, don't expect a lot of action from me, as I will be oherwise occupied. Just wanted to let everyone know, so you don't wonder why I haven't been posting. Jim Too

We are flying to Vegas to-morrow after-noon.
No, we are not going to visit our money, or the money of The Old Sarge.
Our grand-daughters are in the high school play at Moapa Valley High School.
The older one, a senior, has the lead, and her younger sister is in the cast.
We are trusting in the abilities of Southwest Airline to carry us from Santone to Vegas.
Then on the 26th to reverse course from Vegas to Santone.
Non-Stop flights both ways.
We will not be taking our laptop with us, as it is so big.
So, with our tablet and android phone, we will be a bit limited.
Jim Too - We worshipped the Lord to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

As y'all can see from my post on the Gun Laws Forum, I am home in The Republic of Texas.
We flew from SAT to LAS, and back, on Boeing 737-700 airplanes, really more like airborne cross-country buses, and had good flights both ways.
Yes, we flew Southwest, and had the normal SWA hospitality and treatment.
We prefer SWA, as they get you there on-time, and don't charge you for breathing their air, or having the audacity to want to take luggage along.
I have spent the past couple of hours wading through 12 pages of posts since we leff for N-vada.
No, I didn't read every post, but skimmed every one.
I could make lots of comments about some of the subjects, but won't, as I wouldn't add anything to what has already been said.
However, may I compare the reason we went to N-vada, with the situation of a departed (by his own hand) member.
We went to N-vada to see our two N-vada grand-daughters perform in their high school play.
The older of the two, a senior, had the lead in the play, and the younger had a non-speaking, but good part.
The play was a 1932 play adapted from "Alice in Wonderland, orThrough the Looking Glass", by Lewis Carroll.
If you have read the book, the movies loosely followed it, you will understand my comments.
Maybe.
Lewis Carroll was an interesting man.
Were he alive to-day, he would probably be institutionalized for various reasons.
He was known to be a user of opium, to a dangerous degree, was in love with a young teen-age girl, and very irrational.
His book, reflected in the play, was irrational, unable to be interpreted, and for much of its pages, utter nonsense.
Yet, it is fun, and filled with good lines.
The Mad Hatter declares that everyone in "Wonderland" is Mad, utterly mad.
Our grand-daughter, as Alice, was on stage the entire length of the play, as in the book, and had many lines to learn.
The play ran four nights and was different every night.
Not different in ways that altered the play, but actually added to it.
The play was written to be somewhat improvizational, and the players made the most of it.
We thoroughly enjoyed each performance and all the changes the players made.
Now, to the comparisons to our departed member.
This site is rather improvizational, as MOW intended it to be, and that is a good thing.
In the story and play, the characters are all "Mad", but only one is "Mad" to the point of trying to harm others.
The Red Queen, usually played by a man, as "she" was in the production we saw, is regularly calling for her form of justice with these words: "Off with her/his head".
Our departed member, using two different names, was regularly calling for much the same as the Red Queen was.
He, however, instead of calling for the removal of someone's head, used, or misused, the English Language to try to destroy other members of our Forum.
Yes, we are all "Mad" to one degree or another, at least according to the Liberal/Progressive/Socialist/Communist world that opposes us.
NO, I am not calling our departed member any of those terms, but he seems to think we are all "Mad" and he is the only one who is "Sane".
Megalomaniacs think that way.
For someone who was well along the way to 3,000 posts in just a couple of years, he seemed to have little respect for those who have been on the Forum for many more years, and resented anything they had to say about civility, or if they didn't agree with his stated positions.
He accused members of changing their positions, yet neglected to see how he had changed his positions on some issues.
I think he may have thought he was playing the "Devil's Advocate" with some of his posts, but did it in a mean spirited way.
He was good at "Left-Handed Compliments", when he wasn't going for an all-out attack.
My opinion, and we know what that is worth, is that our departed member is a very bitter, angry man, and that bitterness and anger are eating him up.
His racial hatred, mostly aimed at the president and his wife, along with the attorney general, is very vocal.
I, with a few of you, chose to not read his posts and just ignore him, rather than responding and getting attacked.
Again.
All of us want to give our opinions, and MOW has given us an opportunity with this Forum, but there has always been a high degree of civility and respect for the other members.
I am not qualified, and don't want to be, concerning the mental state of our departed member, but have some degree of qualification concerning his spiritual state.
He was raised in the Roman Catholic tradition and reminded us that he went to Catholic Schools for his pre-military education.
Yet, he made many statements that are in direct opposition to stated Roman Catholic positions.
My Bible, which agrees with Roman Catholic teaching, tells us we are to Love one another, not Hate.
I can not hate another person.
Nor do I want to.
Yet, our departed member, made clear his hatred for others.
That indicates to me, without attempting being judgemental, that he is filled with sin that is unconfessed and he is spewing that hatered on the rest of us, and the world.
He said he didn't want others telling him about their beliefs, as he was comfortable in his.
As a retired pastor, I am never totally comfortable in my beliefs, but am open to hear what others have to say.
However, that being said, if what they have to say does not square with the Bible, I reject it.
The Bible is my final authority, not what men may think or say.
MOW, Mark asked you to hang on to the posts of our departed member, until I had a chance to read them.
I have read them, now you can 86 them if you want.
I was hoping our departed member would have become a productive member of our group, as he posted some great posts, and had the Karmas to show it.
However, he chose not to cooperate, and ended up doing himself in.
I hope he comes to realize that we don't hate him, but hope he will get rid of the hatered he holds before it destroys him.
I'm not posting this where it belongs, but added it to the vacation post, as that was where I was.
I also took more space than I should have, and hope I don't cause anyone to have to put in eye-drops part-way through.
I urge each of us to pray for Ron, that he would choose to live without hate, and allow the Lord Jesus to hold sway over his life.
Jesus said if we joined to Him, as a fellow yoke mate, he would make the pull easy.
One post was a thing to see how long one might live.
I am 78, and never expected to make it to 50, so every year is a blessing, and it is up to the Lord how many birthdays I, or anyone else, has.
I'm done.
Glad to be home, in our own bed and our own house.
Jim Too

Welcome home and glad you were able to enjoy time with your family. As this is Easter weekend, all of my children and grandchildren will spend some time with us. What a joyous (and loud) way to spend the weekend. All the best and I share your wishes that Ron settle down and grow old in peace with our creator. Lorin

Welcome home Pastor Oz. Thanks for helping to give us a bit more perspective on recent events. Like you, I came a little late to the party, but I suspect I didn't miss much, and in this case, am glad I didn't get to see the fireworks.
I hope that Ron does have a peaceful life, and that he settles with Our Lord.

We arrived in Overton, Nevada on Saturday evening, after a good drive from Texas.
Yester-day the unofficial temperature here was 112 above zero.
Busy doing preparations for the graduation and wedding.
Well, I'm not doing a whole lot, other than driving to stores, and lifting things in and out of the car.
I guess that is what I came along for.
Graduation is the 6th, then the wedding is on the 15th.
The newlyweds will be leaving on their honeymoon, as they make their way to Minot Airplane Place.
They got news on Friday that they have been assigned a house on base.
It is one of the older, but completely refurbished, duplexes.
So, that is great news for them, as rents in Minot have skyrocketed, because of the aftermath of the 2011 flood, along with the Oil Boom.
We hope to make a stop in Payson, Arizona on our way home.
As you may remember, The Old Sarge and Sandy keep house there.

We got home at 1930 from our 4000 mile jaunt to Nevada.
On the way home we had the privilege to stay Friday night with Jim & Sandy Gier.
Had a great visit with them.
You know that The Old Sarge and I swapped lots of War Stories, while our brides talked about important things.
May I remind you, that if you are going to be traveling anywhere near one of our members, even in Osan, be sure to contact them and get together for a meal, coffee, or ??.
And, of course, New Braunfels, in the Great Republic of Texas, as well.
You won't regret it, and it will certainly put faces to those postings we have all been reading.
Jim Too
Again.

My bride and I are heading NE in the morning.
We will be spending a few days in Branson, taking in two special Christmas shows, and probably the Military Museum.
Weather may not be nice whilst there, but should be good on the road.
No computer with us, so don't look for any posts until we get back.

We got home this evening, after an interesting, and very enjoyable week.
We left last Wednesday morning, headed North, then East.
We drove through the Dallas area, and it was 81 degrees above Zero.
When we got to McAlester, Oklahoma, where we stopped for the night, it was 51 and falling.
Thursday morning, it was in the 30s, with freezing rain.
The road East was open, but the freezing rain kept coming.
The roads were only wet, as it had not cold enough to freeze them.
We drove to Branson in freezing rain, and had about 2 inches of ice on all the front surfaces, and an inch or so on the sides, plus large build-ups in the wheel wells and under the doors.
We got to Branson, checked in to our hotel and had a nice comforable room, with good heat.
Shortly after we got there, it began to snow.
By the time the snow stopped on Friday, there was a total of over 8 inches, on top of the ice.
We got a call from the one show we had booked on Friday, that it was cancelled, but we could attend on Saturday after-noon, same seats, one row further toward the stage.
Center Aisle, 7 rows from the front, 3 and 4 seats in from the aisle.
Wonderful seats.
So.
No show, most shows cancelled, most eateries closed.
I cleaned off the windows and we went Golden Corral for a meal about 1400.
They were on short staff, as not everyone could get to work.
Branson is built on lots of hills, so the ice made most streets impassible.
That night it got to about 1 above zero.
Nope, not used to that anymore.
We did get to see our after-noon show; The Miracle of Christmas, a wonderful telling of the events surrounding the Birth of Jesus.
Not totally accurate, as to people involved, but the message was very clear, and true.
Next stop was to the Shoji Tabuchi Theatre for his Christmas show.
It was good, as all of his shows are.
Some of the vocal music I didn't care for, by two ladies, who screamed more than sang on a couple of songs.
We didn't get to see the Military Museum, the weather prevented it.
So, will visit on our next trip, in better weather.
We left yester-day morning, and went up U.S. 65, past numerous cars in ditches, on some pretty dicey surfaces.
When we got to I-44, the road was good, with just some patches of ice on bridges.
Got to Norman, Oklahoma, our scheduled stop, and checked in to our hotel for the night.
We had enough points, that we were able to stay in a Comfort Suites at no cost, just using our points.
The Oklamoma City area was pretty much closed this morning, as most streets were not passable, because of Ice and Snow.
I-35 was in good shape, for Winter, just a few patches of ice on the road, and some on bridges.
When we got to Denton, Texas, we were in a long, double line of vehicles, entering I-35 West, which was at a stop.
The Northbound traffic was also stopped.
Never saw any wrecked vehicles, so suspect it was because the road was being scraped of ice.
As we headed South, the snow and ice became less.
When we got to the joining of 35 East and 34 West, there was very little snow anywhere.
So, that is the story of our latest journey, or the condensed edition.
Now, to get the car washed, as it is a mess, and rest up.
Jim Too
