I've modified how new member accounts get created.
I've enabled an option that makes it so all new accounts must be approved by a staff member before their account becomes active.
Hopefully this will cut down on the SPAMMER accounts created as well as make us staff members more aware of who is joining.

This new Approval process doesn't notify us by email or anything when a new registration is made. Instead, we need to check the ADMIN section under Manage Members and see if there are any PENDING ACCOUNTS needing to be approved. If there are no pending accounts, this PENDING ACCOUNT APPROVAL line does not appear, only if an account has been submitted.
In the new Proboards V5, which we should be upgrading too very soon (days possibly) this new account approval process includes an automated message to the account requester, the message customized to whatever we want to tell the potential new member. I am not sure if it notifies us in anyway of pending accounts as that feature is not on the beta version. We'll see.

Just doing a random check for pending members, and read the message they get. It says they will be notified when approved. Unless I misread something, is that an automatic notification as well, or do we have to send a seperate e-mail? I didn't even think about it, but I approved two members ("Ed", and someone else) within a day after the new procedure, and assumed the "approval" notification was automatic.

Yes, they get an auto reply of a message I put together. And also, I get an email notifying me of pending accounts.
