22 Nov was the anniversary of Maj Charles Loring earning the MoH. In the 7th AF Peninsula-wide paper the Crimson Sky there is an article about him and his actions. Anytime I see something concerning Loring AFB I think of our Old Sarge Jim here... go figure. Anyway, I downloaded the paper and was going to extract only page 16 for that one article, but figured since it's only 2.x mb in size I'll just put the entire paper here in case anyone is interested in this weeks happenings around Osan and Kunsan. So, here it is for your reading pleasure: OsanAB_CrimsonSky_23Nov12.pdf

Nice paper. I might try the kimchi. I always add some from local Oriental Buffets when we go out. Goes good with most oriental foods. My original introduction to kimchi was after my first trip to Chicoville. With their open sewage ditches and honey wagons, coupled with the smell from open air markets made me ill. So I went back to tent city. Our house boy asked why I came back from town so quickly. I told him the local smell got to me. So he opened his lunch and gave me some kimchi and rice. Afterwards I went back to town. With kimchi on breath, the local smells were covered up. So from then on, it was kimchi and rice before departing. Modern day Korea doesn't offer the challenges we faced back then.
