The new Proboards V5 is in Beta and this site was chosen, as were many others, to test it out.
Its setup and controls are different and it will take me time to learn it all and configure it that way I (we) want.
It looks pretty bare now because all of the custom scripts run on this current v4 site did not convert over. V5 has a lot of built-in functions that make many of the scripts unnecessary so the auto-convert intentionally did not suck them over. I just need to learn this new version so I can set it up properly, which may take awhile.
It might take 6+ months to actually convert into the new site, which for you the Users should be pretty transparent. I'll let you know as time gets near.

is migration complete enough to get through to the site? I tried to login but it wouldnt accept my password to get there. Is that supposed to happen? Other than that, I like the setup better. Old eyes can see this better, and I like the layout, not that it's all that different, it just seems a bit more user friendly to me.
Thanks, Ron,
Hope you're having a great Veterans Day Holiday.

I followed the site's instructions, changed my log-on information, put in a new password, hit the enter button and there it was.
Looks good.

Jim Too Yes, that's what you all need to do the first time you login. It will use your email address and want a new password. Ron - to answer your question, yes the migration was complete up to the point of the migration. Again, this is a Beta site to grow accustom to the changes... it IS NOT THE site so use it ONLY for playing around in. Continue to use THIS SITE for your real posts.

For those whose thinking might be as linear as mine is,'
You have to REGISTER as if it were a NEW ACCOUNT entirely, not just LOGIN. Once I figured that out it was VERY SIMPLE, even for me.
Thanks again,

Thanks again, no ron you don't. U have to just follow the on screen instructions to change your user name to use your email address and rest your password. Sent from my HTC_X515E using proboards

I was trying to log in with postalron and it wouldnt work, tried the old password and new passwords, and that's where the process stopped.
when I went to register, I used the new name and old password and it took me right in.
probably just me,
I'd just as soon delete the postalron2000, can I do that without screwing something up?

All you posts and history are on that postalron2000 account... i'm looking at it now. If we delete it and use your NEW account then you are a newbee again. Log out of the beta site and try logging in again using postalron2000 and original password you use on this sight and see what happens.

MOW, are you planning to migrate posts when we make the big move? Just curious, and not even sure if you can.

MOW, are you planning to migrate posts when we make the big move? Just curious, and not even sure if you can. According to Proboards this conversion may take up to 6+ months once they start, which they have not started yet. This is just a beta to show us what's going to be out there so we can get a feel for it, mainly the admins. When the conversion does take place it will be a conversion of the entire site at the time of conversion so everything will migrate. Since we've all had a chance to look and play a little, I'll probably take the link to the beta site down now as to not confuse anyone.
