www.booktv.org/Program/13947/quotThe+Warriors+Heart+Becoming+a+Man+of+Compassion+and+Couragequot.aspxVideo is 54 min The Warriors Heart: Becoming a man of Compassion and Courage by Eric Greitens , former Navy Seal. Great story about what he learned as a USN Seal and how he uses that with kids and returning vets. In this adaptation of his best-selling book, The Heart and the Fist, Eric speaks directly to teen readers, interweaving memoir and intimate second-person narratives that ask the reader to put themselves in the shoes of himself and others. Readers will share in Eric’s evolution from average kid to globe-traveling humanitarian to warrior, training and serving with the most elite military outfit in the world: the Navy SEALs. Along the way, they’ll be asked to consider the power of choices, of making the decision each and every day to act with courage and compassion so that they grow to be tomorrow’s heroes. Sure to inspire and motivate. Reminds me of the book I'm re-reading: Man's Search For Meaning by Victor E. Frankl who survived 4 German concentration camps Review: Psychiatrist Viktor Frankl's memoir has riveted generations of readers with its descriptions of life in Nazi death camps and its lessons for spiritual survival. Between 1942 and 1945 Frankl labored in four different camps, including Auschwitz, while his parents, brother, and pregnant wife perished. Based on his own experience and the experiences of those he treated in his practice, Frankl argues that we cannot avoid suffering but we can choose how to cope with it, find meaning in it, and move forward with renewed purpose. Frankl's theory—known as logotherapy, from the Greek word logos ("meaning")—holds that our primary drive in life is not pleasure, as Freud maintained, but the discovery and pursuit of what we personally find meaningful. At the time of Frankl's death in 1997, Man's Search for Meaning had sold more than 10 million copies in twenty-four languages. A 1991 reader survey by the Library of Congress and the Book-of-the-Month Club that asked readers to name a "book that made a difference in your life" found Man's Search for Meaning among the ten most influential books in America.

Pat, without listening to the Interview with Senator Coburn, did he mention anything about the $80 Trillion in unfunded liabilities the government has?
When you consider the deficit is currently more than our GDP, at $16+ Trillion, it makes me wonder how we will ever take care of the $80 Trillion.
We are already in the situation Greece and Spain are, and rapidly sliding down to join the Weimar Republic on our way to fiscal failure and total collapse.
The dollar amounts, in constant dollars, make the Great Depression look like prosperity.
Just wondering.

That is the Debt Bomb beyond this little cake walk called the Fiscal Cliff. His office is the only Senate office that does extensive research work on spending and proposals for change. Pat P.

www.booktv.org/Program/14211/The+Financial+Crisis+and+the+Free+Market+Cure+Why+Pure+Capitalism+is+the+World+Economys+Only+Hope.aspxVideo is 52 min. This man can tell a complex story that regular folks can understand. He talks about how the government policies and laws created the financial crisis and now they are holding interest rates low which is crushing the elderly who have saved for retirement and can no longer use earned interest to supplement their retirement. You'll enjoy this one. "The Financial Crisis and the Free Market Cure: Why Pure Capitalism is the World Economy's Only Hope" by John Allison
John Allison, president of the Cato Institute, argues that government incentives and regulation caused the 2008 collapse and says that to improve the economy we need to adopt pure free market policies. Hosted by the Heritage Foundation in Washington, DC. John Allison is president and CEO of the Cato Institute and a distinguished professor at Wake Forest University School of Business. He previously served as Chairman of the financial firm BB&T.

You should read this. Tells you in full details how it all got started and by whom, and where it all took place. Its a great book and you might or might not be surprised when you read the names involved. The world economy in the future will go bust. Out will come a one world currency and later following a one world government. We have all heard world leaders mention, "New World Order".

www.booktv.org/Program/14322/Bad+History+Worse+Policy+How+a+False+Narrative+about+the+Financial+Crisis+Led+to+the+DoddFrank+Act.aspxVideo is about 90 minutes "Bad History, Worse Policy: How a False Narrative about the Financial Crisis Led to the Dodd-Frank Act" by Peter WallisonPeter Wallison takes a critical look at the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and argues that it is based on a false narrative of what lead to the 2008 economic collapse. During this event hosted by the American Enterprise Institute, Mr. Wallison is joined by Wayne Abernathy (Americans Bankers Association), John Allison (Cato Institute), and Hester Peirce (George Mason University). Peter Wallison is co-director of the American Enterprise Institute's program on financial policy studies. He previously served as general counsel of the Treasury Department and as White House counsel to President Ronald Reagan. Mr. Wallison's books include "Ronald Reagan" and "Privatizing Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the Federal Home Loan Banks." This is the same panel that John Allison spoke on in my earlier post on his book. Allison said that he learned all he knows about the financial crisis from reading Peter Wallison's papers before the financial crisis exploded. What he learned caused him as CEO of BB&T bank to survive the crisis because he acted before the crisis ever hit. IMHO, Wallison's book will become the final historical truth that the government and GSE's caused the financial crisis. Pat P.
